We sometimes get the urge to make Melt & Pour soap.
This time, we made a honey soap with real honey in silicone molds bought at a 100 yen shop, Daiso. We used a bubble wrap as mold on the soap to add bee hive like decorations. For gifts, we reccomend wrapping it in a way so people know it's Winnie the Pooh! Hand made soaps are surprisingly weak against moisture so it is better to wrap it tightly.
How to make (About 85g X 3 pcs)
1. Cut 250 g of Glycerin soap into 2 centimeter squares. It is soft so it is easy to cut.
2. In a heat resistant container, put 100g of 1. in it and heat it up in the microwave for about 30 seconds. If it doesn't melt completely, heat some more checking the state.
3. Add 10g of honey and mix.
4. Use a food coloring you like and color it. Gel type coloring can be used as it is but they are somewhat harder to melt. It is a good idea to dissolve them in a small amount of water before adding them.
5. Add aroma at this point if you want to. (Essential oils, aroma oils, and plant extracts can be used)
6. Pour it into a mold.
7. In a heat resistant container, put 100g of 1. and 3g of white MP soap and melt it in the microwave.
8. Color using the food coloring you like and add an aroma you like.
9. Pour it into mold. Press a bubble wrap closely on top of it.
10. When it hardens (about an hour) peel off the bubble wrap.
11. In a heat resistant container, pour 50g of 1. and heat it in the microwave and melt it.
12. Pour 11 into 10 and attach two colors of soap together.
13. Take it out of the mold and dry it for a day.
14. Done. This is some very foamy soap!
