I’ve finally made and uploaded the kits! (Only a year late) Here’s the link madebytaylahrose.com/products/deluxe-diy-scrunchie-kits-makes-3-sewing-machine-edition?_pos=2&_sid=59929d5bc&_ss=r
WOW !!! Such a detailed and very informative video of the burrito method to make scrunchies. I never thought of the part where you stuff the remainder inside the end of the scrunchie when you're sewing the length of it. TYSM for sharing this video with us. Sooo helpful !!! 😍❣️😻
If anyone hasn’t seen taylah make them, please subscribe and start from the beginning when taylah started, then you can see how much she’s grown in business, and changes she has made. Thanks for posting taylah! Nice to see you. You really are adorable !
I was already using the same XL scrunchie measurements for mine but I make my regular scrunchies at 5inches by 30inches. I also use the burrito method for all my scrunchies. :) Love your content, Thank you!

Such a great tutorial, thank you for sharing. I started making scrunchies a few months ago and love it. One really handy tip I found was to thread the elastic through the fabric tube BEFORE you pull it all through using your bodkin. It makes the whole process so much quicker. xx
I always have so much troubles to find scrunchies that I actually like and can hold all of my hair, as I have a lot of hair which are think and very curly...so I need big ones! I started making my own and your tutorial really helped me make them better, faster and sturdier. Thank you for sharing!
It's soo beautiful! I could not have my own business I'd be far too stressed and overwhelmed! Hats off to you!! However... I have a 3 year old daughter and spend ALL my money on bows and scrunchies and clips.. So making my own would be soo much cheaper! Just a quick question, not that it matters but I'm 34 and have NEVER used a sewing machine in my Life! It looks hard and scary.. Could you please do a tutorial for ULTRA beginners on how to set it up and sew? I reckon you would get plenty of views and people would watch it multiple times to get the hang of it!
Tysm! I've always always been intimidated by the burrito method and wow you actually made it look super easy and I got a good view THANK YOU I'm going to try the burrito method and do my first XL , I normally do regulars
Loved your tutorial. I never had a bodkin and only a teeny weeny safety pin which kept coming undone and pricking me😄 so I just improvised and used a craft popsicle stick, cut a slit in one end and slipped the elastic into that and it stayed in place really well when pushing through the fabric. Also I find in the upholstery fabric section at Spotlight they have a lot of really heavily reduced bolts of fabric which are really good value and they are also generally wider as well.
Thank you so much. I have been looking everywhere…. and i mean everywhere for years for information like this. i’ve been making scrunchies since 2019 and have always had questions. thank you
Great job on this tutorial video. Your instructions are clear and concise. I also think it is a great idea to sell packs/kits of your scrunchies but maybe you want to sell them with different fabrics than the ones you sell so each brand line is unique..
Hi Taylah...I was wondering if you could show how you fold your fabrics and cut them? I love how they look so neat. I have a tall metal rack I keep my fabrics on, and it really needs a makeover, and to be folded better so I can see what I have... So anyways ya If you could show how you do this that would be awesome! I'm from the United States, and not famiiar with centermeters, so if you could say the width of your elastics in inches that would be awesome...I know there are so many out there, and I have no clue what size to get and buy...Thank you so much for your talent, and videos...
Thankyou so much, all was so clear! I'm just changing the entrance in between the first sewing stich cuz I don't put logos, also I just make a knot not sew elastic, Thankyou again and God Bless you!!!
I didnt know if Scrunchies were still popular...I see them less here in UK. I have tried chiffon but hated working with it as its slippy. Mainly I like cotton. I like your scrunchies...very voluminous
I used Rayon from Spotlight for XL. So far it's ok but they do crease A LOT. I have tried using a pretty stretchable velvet also from spotlight but it was terrible.. Used the same WOF as my other XL and whenever I try to sew it, it would curls up. The overall look was terrible too. I like the double cotton ones but not a fan of a few polycottons. They make the scrunchies look flat and somehow made the patterns dull. Duckbill fabric is great for bows and headbands. Btw this is just my personal opinions. The rayons sell really well though for me.
I do not like to knot the elastic because it tends to pull on my hair once I have the scrunchie holding my hair. I just started making my own and I enjoy it. Thanks for your tutorial.
Full wof for xls (so whatever the length of the fabric is, it differs between different fabric bases) and half of that for the regulars. Can be anywhere from 22-29 inches
Just started making scrunchies nd have wanted to make xl ones out of cotton material at I have this video is making getting through having covid easier
I saw your video about making hundreds of scrunchies in bulk, but you did more of a donut method. How quickly are you able to sew a ton of scrunchies with a burrito method as well?
Just wondering on avg....what is the length of most of the fabrics....I know you just cut the width and just use the length on XL....and cut in half for the regular.......I know most fabrics are 44 in. or 60 inches so do you use 60 inches on some fabrics and 44 on the other....thank you
Great tutorial! My fabric is 58” wide if I follow you and do 7” and wof my XL Scrunchie would be Ginormous! What would you suggest I do in this case? Thanks!
Thanks! That’s how wide my satin and a few other Materials are and I use the full amount :) you can always test what works best for you but I use 147cm which is 58 inches all the time 😀 (and in this tutorial)
Congratulations for the beautiful work, I love your videos. I would like to know the measurements you make in two sizes which would be the tam? I'd like to do. I'm Brazilian and I follow your videos.
Hi there! I‘m just curious if I understood you correctly (English is not my first language):a thinner Elastic makes for a more plush scrunchy? I would have guessed it’s the other way around as a wider elastic holds the fabric up more? Sorry of it’s a stupid question but thank you for the amazing tutorial, you make the burrito method so easy to understand! 🥲✨
Thank you so much for this video. Do you use the same size 8” inch elastic for the regular scrunching? This video help me out a lot I will try to make some
Love your videos. I’d love to know where you get your elastic from. I really don’t like spotlight elastic. Sometimes it’s stretchy and sometimes not so stretchy. 🤷♀️
Love how you've organized with cubes...where'd you find those white cube? I've looked every wherefor affordable organization items. Thank you for graciously sharing your time and talent
3:19 What is the seam allowance? I wana make some for my 3 year and me and my mother in law! How long is that piece of fabric? I feel so overwhelmed! It's like when I learnt crochet lol I've literally cried because I struggled lol
Hi, could I ask what thread you use? Also how do you get your industrial to sew thin fabrics?? Mine would just chew up satin, I can only sew cotton if its interfaced.
I am just learning how to sew and do scrunchies and was wondering what size needle you use for the satin material thanks so much, also I do apologize but what was the lenght of the 7 inch xl scrunchie. It looks long or how much fabric did you use. Sorry I am a newbie at this
Hi I work with scrap fabric that I get from the tailors, so what is the length of both the type of scrunchies that you make? I take 22 to 23 inches for a normal size but for the xl what is the typical size? 44?
Merci beaucoup pour cette vidéo ! Ça m'a permis de découvrir l'existence des Bodkin je vais regarder ça 😍 un peu difficile à comprendre pour les français surtout les tissus recommandés, mais au top ! 🤗
The (WOF) width of fabric is the length for xl and half of the wof is the length I use for regular. All fabrics have different WOF which is why I said wof in the video and not a specific measurement. Usually the fabrics I work with are around 60inch/150cm for xl and 29inch for reg
@@TaylahRose thank you for explaining that ....I must of missed it .... honestly thank you for answering back and thank you for your amazing content...all the best Katz
I’ve scoured the internet and finally I have found the best scrunchie video hands down! Amazing work! Question: where do you get your labels? If you make them can you post a tutorial on that?
Thank you! My tutorial is the first video on my channel. I now purchase them in bulk from alibaba I think the company is something like Shanghai green goods co or similar x
