For one of your examples, people do want to get married but when the day comes closer or when plans begin to take place such as looking for rings and dresses / tuxs, men often do freak out as the situation becomes more "Real."

I could fill a book, full of misunderstandings and stupidity. I never saw us like that in 26 years, having also 2 lovely kids together (9,12).
