I try to make my own white gesso using the following recipe: - 3 parts cornstarch - 3 parts baking soda - 1 part PVA Glue - 2 - 3 parts distilled water - 2 -3 squirts white acrylic paint
The white paint it there to serve as your base color when applying it.If you don’t add white paint then you can make it without it,let it dry,than go in with your paints.If you add it in the guesso than there is no need to paint white over it.You can go straight in with the color
