Different copper alloys either harden or soften by heating and quenching in water. IDK the details of why, except that it alters the crystalline structure. Copper scraps I've had in my hobby blacksmith shop would work-harden. To soften the workpiece so I could continue hammering and shaping, I had to heat it and quench it in water.

@@VintageGarageYT déjà, merci de m,avoir répondu ! et c,est gentil de ta part de proposer d,en faire un en cuivre, en faite c,est comme un joint d,origine de 103 Peugeot sauf que j'ai un kit 50 CC athena et ce joint en aluminium était livré avec le cylindre, car les joints d,origine Peugeot ne sont pas très compatibles avec les cylindres kité 50 ( trop épais, plus de 1 mm d,épaisseur, ce qui nuit au taux de compression ou taux volumétrique et le squish, ça tu dois connaître !! 😄) je travaille en épaisseur en plus fin,pour le moment j,ai toujours la culasse d,origine avec un décompresseur, plus tard ,je mettrai une culasse surcompressée ( haute compression) pour gagner en performances, je ne suis pas un adepte des gros kit 65 ,70 voir même 100 cc, pour moi ce n,est plus de la mob à ce niveau et puis ça revient très cher quand il y a de la casse !! Si vraiment tu peux arriver à en faire aux cotes, je veux bien ,il faudrait que je t,envoie un joint par courrier à ton adresse et je te dédommagerai bien sur ! Ça sent la passion dans ton garage et ça j,adore😉🤘🇧🇪 j,habite en Normandie et je suis fan des deux roues depuis tout-petit et j,ai mon permis moto depuis 1983!! A bientôt
@@fredericdobbelaere7725 Je suis également plus favorable au maintien du 50cc. Vous pouvez également scanner et envoyer le joint par e-mail. Je ne sais pas encore si cela fonctionnera bien. Je n'ai pas encore beaucoup roulé.

No worries about your english 😉. The gasket is holding up so far. This bike does not do a lot of kilometers, but if I have to guess I would say it's been good for about 50 kilometers so far.
What metal are you talking about? Copper/aluminium/... I have reused them if they are OK yes. If need be you heat up used copper gaskets like I did here and reuse them. Reheating makes the copper soft again.
@@VintageGarageYT This is an aluminum head gasket for a 90 Honda NT650 V-twin motorcycle. I lapped the valves and the engine is out of the bike. I was going to install the head using the orig metal gasket and do a leak down test to see if the intake leak is gone. The aftermarket gaskets being sold are not metal and I figured using an original metal may be a better choice.
@@swordfish1120 I would then aswell go for original indeed. If its in good condition you can try it. If it leaks try to reheat it and try again. I've also made a video about a leak down test if you're interested.
