Cranial cruciate disease is very common in dogs and it often causes pain and lameness. In some cases the ligament can rupture and dogs require surgery to regain function of the leg.
In this video we meet Roxy, who was having issues with her cruciate ligament. Thankfully she has avoided surgery but she has developed some interesting characteristics with her movement, mainly a bunny hopping action indicating tightness in her hips.
Check out this video where Pearl discusses her movement patterns and things her owner can do to help alleviate pain associated with her disease. Let us know your thoughts on this video in the comment section below.

Injury to the front knee😊

Wonderful to know this! My Pittie had her CCL dislocated as a 4 month old puppy. She had to undergo surgery to get a couple tiny rods in her knee. She’s now almost 2 years old. I’ve noticed also her back is arched. I wonder if this is all related? She’s a very very active and agile girl. Loves to jump on and off heights, jump to catch her ball and have running races with my other dog.

Sorry to here about your Pittie, but super happy she's made a full recovery and sounds like she's living the dream!! The roached back can be secondary to the hind leg injury. When there's pain or imbalance in the hind legs, we often see compensation pain in the back. Best to have her checked out by your vet to ensure there's nothing else happening here. Some massage and stretches in the back and hind legs would do her wonders
