They don't have good teas out here in Italy. I wish they made something that tastes like these Monster but without all the caffeine and sugar... I'd love that but we don't have it here 😭
@@EdTalenti lol we all got our things that are bad for our health man. Human beings are resilient. There are a lot worse things you could be doing for your body over monster drinks, like cocaine or heroine or crazy things like that lol. We all are just a work in progress! And we all (hopefully all) are working to become better, happier and healthier humans. You're the best dude. Much love from Canada.
I generally just quickly look at RMS before exporting and make sure I'm hitting under 10. Not sure if it's the best thing to do but it worked okay so far!
How much difference do people feel using Mastering Assistant on Ozone Elements vs Standard makes? I notice the only adjustment he made to the stereo imager isn't possible in Elements (there's no bands).
Purpose for "mastering" beats... ?? Artist is not on it yet and if it's going out to a label it will hit a mixing house first so you will be required to send stems. Conclusion... makes no sense to "master" a beat that will be processed again anyway. Even a beat store doesnt need a mastered beat. Most are not at all. Sold to tons to artist and submit to labels and movie scoring companies every month... I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED FOR MASTERED BEAT. NOT ONCE... I would love to know what professional company is requesting "mastered" beats and for what purpose??
I never actually send out the mastered version. The only purpose is to present the best sounding version of the beat to people that wanna listen to it or buy it. It's the version I upload for streaming on both BeatStars and RU-vid but it's not meant for the artist to use!
@@EdTalenti you should really make it a point to go take some professional mastering courses my man. If your music is CLEAR it is perceived as mastered. Example... you are in a loud room and you faintly hear someone calling you from upstairs. The first thing you do is tell everyone SHHHHH so you can hear the sound better. The voice didnt get louder... IT GOT CLEARER. Your ears now percieved it as loud and understandable simply because you cleared everything up. Moral... instead of teaching up and coming producers a skill they wont use much why not teach them how to be more clear in their beats so they dont have to use this skill at all. Saves time saves headache and most of all its smart business when dealing professionally. 👍🏾 after all you just said YOU DONT USE THIS EITHER when sending your beats out. Why not focus on teaching them something they will use every single time they make beats. 💯 "Best" doesn't mean mastered. It means clearer. Mastering just means completed and ready... 😉
Would I be able to use Ozone in my daw without exporting the beat? Like just add it to my Master channel? I work with an old version of Maschine and it's all MIDI. Thanks in advance.
Thank you so much! Turned out really great! Mabye you could do a tutorial, where you achieve the same quality with all the same effects but only using free plugins? Would be really useful, since I cant really spend money on plugins.
Thank you for the tips! So do we really concern ourselves with the streaming normalization or not? When I reference pro released tracks from Spotify ...they are hitting way harder than the -14lufs and -1dbtp that they say they normalize to..but they sound just fine on playback on Spotify...these pro tracks are peaking at -.1 and 9lufs or so....some say don’t consider and others say be cautious of how hot your songs are when submitting for distribution on steaming platforms....any insight is appreciated!
I'm not really an expert on the technicalities of mastering but I can tell you that in my experience, as long as you export it mastered at about -.1 you should be okay. Again tho, take this with a grain of salt!
Craig Olsen just use a plugin called youlean loudness meter, it has visual playback and also presets for certain loudness of your song after processing, like RU-vid processes audio, so the plugin shows you the right amount of volume to put so when it’s uploaded to youtube it’s still the same no crazy peaks. Same thing for Spotify and other streaming services. A great plugin.
From what I know, CD is mastered for a higher LUFs value in the end. Since SoundCloud doesn't have a limit or recommended LUFs level, you should select CD. CD should master ~8 LUFs and streaming around ~13 LUFs. I'm not sure though.
nice vid Ed, when does the giveaway end? Also do you check the LUFS at the end to make sure its around -14 for streaming platforms or? I can imagine its quite a lot higher. Cheers :)
Not sure yet but within a week or so for sure! I usually just check the RMS and make sure it's hitting somewhere below 10. Not sure if it's the best thing to do but it works for me!
Not necessarily! Considering that slides are usually in the higher range of your 808 I'm sure the bulk of the frequencies will be around the 250 mark and they should be preserved. Either way, if you have panned 808s I'd probably consider lowering that 200 threshold to like 150 or something like that.
hey bro, you have your mixed track on a mono track? (like that 1 on the mono/stereo track) does that make a diff? im confused on that part..shouldnt it be on a stereo track?
Best Man ! If you export the clip in ableton for mastering, is normalize off or ? and also no limiter or ? I am just beginning mastering greez from Germany
