I HAVE NO WORDS!
but here's a few anyway:
this could have only gone marginally better but just because this wasn't a complete failure I'm calling this a complete success!
Hope you enjoy the video!

Love how you explain everything but most of all you answer back .

Hey Tim, great video (background music a bit loud tho) it's great to see a young person like you enjoying working with your hands 😃 I've been been looking for a brass letter keyring (letter A) since I lost mine years ago. I can only find them in the US and they are not the size or font that I like and really expensive to post. If you're interested in doing things with brass you might have a market in Australia for brass letter keyrings. I'm in Queensland.

Thanks for the feed back mate I'll try and make the music more suitable in the future, as for your request my propane foundry is down right now, but I will be having a look at it when the months get a little cooler as I have a LOT of metal to process, perhaps I would be able to help you out then (just a little under the pump right now) do you have the name of the font that you like? if you give me that and a size, I have a look for you. Thanks for your comment, Happy crafting!

I recently purchased one of them electric furnaces, what temperature do I need to set it at? And do I add the brass in when it's reached the desired temperature or do I add the brass and then heat the furnace up? It's confusing I'm new to this kind of stuff
@craftedbytimyt
@craftedbytimyt Год назад
I'm actually not super versed on melting with an electric furnace, I was always told to temper new crucibles by heating them to a red temp and letting them cool slowly. I would point you more towards "BigstacksD Casting" and see if they can give you any ideas, hope this helps! Happy crafting!

Thinking you should get a proper crucible grabber. Also a laser temp gun.. great video, cheers.

yeah I think I'll have to but I just gotta figure out exactly what size crucible I'm going to be working with first, as for the pyrometer, I'm still saving up for one 😄

how long do you need to heat it for, for it to melt?
@craftedbytimyt
@craftedbytimyt 2 года назад
Great question, as this was a while ago I cant say for certain but I would say once I had everything heated up, I dropped the brass in and probably had to wait about 15-30 minutes before it was completely liquid. The hardest part is making sure it doesn't burn. Thanks for the comment!

Australia’s gun laws are sad, not as bad as Europe, but man, might as well not have a gun with all the regs. Doesn’t even stop shooters from getting them though. Sad, I’m sorry Aussies

A little advice. Don't use aluminum cans to make castings. If you want to cast aluminum, get quality aluminum such as from an old RC plane engine, aluminum fixtures, aluminum bolts, aluminum wheel, aluminum engine block/parts, etc. Aluminum cans have a lot of impurities and the castings will often not be very satisfying.

I have just over 20,000 rounds of 7.62x39, 10,000 5.56, approximately 7000 .45ACP, and at a guess another 5 or 6k in a variety of caliber. Can you guess where I live

@@craftedbytimyt you got the "T"... Tennessee, in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountain's. Something interesting about the Smokey's that I don't believe most people who live here know is that the Great Smokey Mountain's have more diversity of life per square mile than any other place on Earth. What that means to someone familiar with them they will provide a meal at all times you are never far from something you can eat. Of course it's a lot easier to get usually with a rifle

@@craftedbytimyt we'd love to have you. We of course have rattlesnakes here, but y'all down under I'm pretty sure take the prize when it comes to venomous reptiles. Which means I'm not likely to be going to Australia. There's honestly not much I'm afraid of but snaked are on that short list. Do you not have a venomous snake called the Common Brown, that word there "common" when used to describe a snake, gives me pause

@@samuelcarstens6152 I actually like adding music to my videos, as it gives me a beat to edit to, I admit its a personal preference, and I appreciate the feedback, perhaps I'll try a video without music in the future to see if my audience likes it. Obviously there are channels like Jimmy Diresta who doesn't add music to their videos which are very successful so it is possible that people would still enjoy it.
