How to cast smaller and much finer and more detailed stuff? Is there some finer technique than this sand? Thanks

looking to getting into making silver bars/coins/copper. The inductive coil method seems the quickest/cheapest but the crucible also seems quite small. Would you recommend going with this furnace version instead? I like the idea of the silver melting in like 8 minutes instead of an hour it takes with these furnaces. Torch is also an option but also seems a bit less safe and lots of room to accidently burn the house down. 🙂

I love your videos... The detail is military grade. Did you use the crucible that came with the furnace? If not, why? Thanks again!

Doug, where did you obtain such specific knowledge of dental lab techniques? It's too intricate to be just casual.

Great video. I have that same exact electric metal melter, but mine refuses to heat up anymore after 4 melts it was used for. Any ideas on troubleshooting or fixing?
@electronicsNmore
@electronicsNmore 2 года назад
Remove the heat protection screen, remove the screws on the top metal ring, then you can pull out the ceramic assembly. You likely have a burned out resistive wire. You can buy new resistive wire online for a low price to make a new heating coil.

Hmm arent you soupposed to add borax to the silver as you melt it clear out the impurities amd skim.off the top
@electronicsNmore
@electronicsNmore 2 года назад
I add right before I power up the furnace. As you saw when looking inside at the molten metal, there was very little if any impurities that needed to be scooped away.

Ummm why does it still show the draw when it’s disconnected but when it’s hooked to the battery it shows 0?

How do you know all this stuff? All I know is that a process similar to this is how car engines are made and many other things.

I've learned how to do many things over the years, and do them extremely well. I learn very quickly. I have many skills, but I wouldn't even consider showing them on YT because viewers would complain about the subject matter.

If you do a lot of that maybe best to collect the silver filing and particles. isnt the casting sand soft enough to not scoop out and just press the object in? despite I wont do most of your videos and would do some of them slightly different method on the projects I still watch them to see how your brain works which I feel every time I watch others videos I feel I will get stupid which I dont watch ticktock or trending. LOL In the end I hope you make videos since you enjoy it and track your projects which it a lot of work but you make it seem easy. :)
