This modified plugin is a life saver - not to mention a time & money saver! I was attempting to use the current free version of the same plugin to move a site from Godaddy to Hostinger. I did have to go into the .htaccess file to add the following script to Hostinger: php_value upload_max_filesize 1G php_value post_max_size 1G php_value memory_limit 1G php_value max_execution_time 300 php_value max_input_time 300 Hostinger was automatically set up to limit uploads to 512M. After this however, the free version would not complete the import. Your modified plugin uploaded the files on a fast computer over a decent connection in minutes. Greatly Appreciated!

Hey Doc! Thanks for the tip! I would like to add: 1 - after creating the backup file, you can zip it (amazing only half the size or even more!) 2 - Install AIOM on destination site 2 - FTP or using cpanel/plesk File manager to upload the zip file to the destination site, under the wp-content---ai1wm-backups folder 3 - Unzip the file 4 - goto AIOM-->Backup, and you will find the backup file there 5 - proceed to restore 6 - taaadaaa! Done! It works with this version of AIOM but not the later version, they have put the feature into the paid version. Hope this helps! - s

@@WPressDoctor No problem at all Doc! I was having issues with some hosting plan, especially the shared versions. Often facing resources problems, Error 500, Stopped halfway during upload/restore etc. I have tried almost all the popular b/r plugins, AIOM is still the easiest!

Hey Jeff! Dat komt we eens voor, heeft vaak met caching te maken. Je kunt de plug-in ook handmatig uploaden via FTP of de file browser van je hosting bedrijf. Upload de zip file en pak deze uit, dan hoef je hem alleen nog maar te activeren!
It seems that I am stuck at the last step with migrating my 2GB website. It downloads/exports successfully and imports fully, but it fails on the unpacking archive stage where it has been staying on 0% for more than 4 hrs. Do you have any suggestions? The site I am migrating it to has no data on it and plugins on it besides the All-in-One WP Migration (100GB version) - version 6.7.7. I don't know if this is a problem or not, but the All-in-One WP Migration plugin installed on the original website that I exported from is the latest - 7.7.5. If you could help that would be extremely helpful.
Hi Jake! Sometimes that can be a problem yes. Exporting it with the same version is always better. If you can do the export again with the old version, that would be better 😀

Exporting and uploading works perfectly fine but it then gets stuck on the "Unpacking archive... 0% Completed" Screen. I exported and imported with both All-in-One WP Migration version 6.7.7 software versions. I have a 2.6 GB website. Do you have any suggestions? I have seen in the comment section of other videos that this is happening with them as well. If you could address this issue that would super helpful!
Well it’s not my plugin, i only adjusted it. so I cannot address it haha. Maybe they fixed it in a new version. It’s probably because of a hosting issue, but I can’t tell you what to do next, sorry! If I was you I would do it manually. That ALWAYS works 😀👍🏻
I wish I could find this yesterday. I used 'all in one migration' which had a limit of 1gb so I watched tutorial where a hack could change the limit to 40gb on one condition that i had to use older version of AIOM plugin. I followed every step and got stuck at 95% just before restoring site successfully. Haha, I lost my full site( as critical error notice was displaying, my all files were already overwritten and i couldn't restore it). Had to setup fresh wordpress in cpanel. And Here I am today 😆😆

You claim in your wonderful video, "You need to log in to your old website"? What exactly do you mean? Should I log in to my former site or use the username and password from my old site? Please provide a more detailed description.

How long does it take for changes to be fully done. i have tried multiple browsers and cleared cache as well. regards
When switching hosts and thus the DNS settings to the new IP Adresses -> This can take up to 48 hours max. How does it looks when on your mobile phone?
Then it can be the caching of your browser or DNS. Try a friends computer / mobile and see if it changes. Have you cleared the cache of the hosting company itself? Like memcached and NGiNX?

Hi, when I have tried to use this plugin, when importing the site, it just hangs with the message "checking extensions compatibility" and after it did this for more than 8 hours and did not proceed with the import. I then closed the browser down. I've tried couple of times and each time the same thing happens. Any ideas as to what the issue could be and how I can resolve it? Thanks

I have a question, if my first site is what I wanted to clone, I used the latest version of all in one WP migration plugin and backed up all the files. So now on my new site if I used the older version of the all in one WP migration software as you suggest, can I still import the files used with latest version of all in one WP migration plugin in my old website. Hi Samuel. You are very welcome. I recommend using the old version for export and import. Not new version to export en old version to import. Because this could cause conflicts. Could cause - because most of the time it just works 👍🏻

What does it mean if when trying to import it keeps getting stuck at "Done preparing blogs."? It seems to make the site have a critical error but going on incognito makes it load the empty site just fine too

You could try to change some PHP settings: upload_max_filesize - set this to a value higher than your backup post_max_size - set this to a value higher than your backup memory_limit - set this to a value higher than your backup max_execution_time - set this to 0 (infinite)

Hi there! Thats not suppose to happen. Try to upload it manually with FTP or your hosting File Manager into the /uploads/ folder of the plugin, let me know if that works!
Ah then there is the problem. The max file upload limit is preventing your import file to get to the server. Ask your host how to change the max upload file size 😉

Usually the upload takes 5-100 min, depending on your upload speed. Then the unpacking should only take like 10 min. max… if that’s the bottleneck, I would talk to my host…

Hey doc, followed all the steps and I'm now at the my file upload stage. The upload keeps stopping at 7.69% and gives an error so I'm not sure what to do at this point. Please can you advise on how to troubleshoot this. Or should I just give up and rebuild my site? I’m a bit unclear. Do I delete my entire website or what should I do? Does it affect my hosting? Nope you just create a new clean WordPress installation, put also in there the plugin and then you start importing the File. However when it’s not working, it’s almost always has to do with how your hosting is handeling file sizes

I am unable to edit any page or post after using your plugin. Rest of the wordpress backend working fine, front end working fine, but only unable to edit posts, pages etc. pl advise.
@@WPressDoctor yes I saved permalink twice like religiously :) haha but somehow this issue occurred. I retried the import once again, and everything set afresh, and yet I am unable to edit posts and pages in backend. Important toe mention, I am able to see dashboard, all other menu on dashboard, even able to customize theme options (Minimal Grid, free version). So database is well in place, somehow unable to edit posts, and pages. Also unable to create clone of posts or edit clones. Any pointers for help?
Uhm that’s odd. Try to check if any plugin has a bit of trouble, disable them all, check again. Also switching to standard theme and change back could force some code to write it again. Are you on the same PHP version as your old host?

It does not seem to work for me. When I try to import the file it is stuck at 1.08%. Any clues what I can do now? Sorry for the short explanation but I don't have much to work with either.
Hi Martin, ik denk dat je even de backup handmatig moet uploaden naar de juiste folder via FTP. Dan kun je het vanaf daar importeren met de plugin. Laat me weten of dat werkt! Je moet wel de export / backup plaatsen in de juiste map.

Hi there! Well the unpacking issue is often because of a hosting problem, but you can try the approach of uploading it manually. It has to be uploaded to: /wp-content/ai1wm-backups

thanks for the tutorial it great. My question is how do i get rid of the part that says migrate on the permalinks now. do i just delete that part so that it still reads the same as before or will that mess up everything. Thank you
Hi there! I don’t know if I understand your question correctly. You just leave your permalinks the same on the old website, after import you don’t change anything, just save your permalinks twice on the new website 👍🏻 does that answer your question?
