How To Migrate Your Website From Siteground To NameHero

Siteground is an amazing Webhosting provider, but their price increase from last June makes the second year quite expensive for some of us. That is why want to talk in this video about when it is a better option to switch your websites to NameHero.
In a lot of cases, like in mine, it is perfectly fine to keep your Grow Big account at Siteground. It all depends on how many websites you have or are planning to have, and for how many years you want to extend your plan at Siteground. But if you have the Grow big account with 1, 2, or 3 websites it is better to migrate or transfer your website to NameHero.
I have done a lot of research and found out that NameHero is cheaper than Siteground and has a faster website speed. That is why I recommend NameHero as an alternative for Siteground.

Hi Ferdy, I just moved my 14 websites from hostgator to NameHero, and Placed a cancel request for my package, I still watched your video from start to end your videos are always a treat, About Email Accounts!! what I did was, after creating cPanel emails on NameHero, I just updated my "incoming (POP3/IMAP) & outgoing (SMTP)" server settings in Email client and booom, ALL intact, Thanks for the video, Keep up the GOOD WORK!!

Hi Ferdy, If I have several websites in my Siteground account, do I have to go through the same process of transferring domain for each one and pay the 15$ for the transfer?

Thank You Ferdy. This solved my problem. I had to use WP Vivid because my website files are 405mb and the WP all-in-on Migration plugin would stopped importing even after increasing my upload size to 500mb.

Dont go for SITEGROUND ... big issue happen with me .. i forgot to renew my hosting because of some health issues .. Site ground just wipe out my all website data after 30 days .. they not even mailed or contacted me about their such policy .. i have lost all data and everything for which i spent almost year .. i asked them if they have any backups ill pay for it but no use .. its their policy to erase all your data after a month . so think and decide.. thanks

cool video thanks. I want to do this but the old site is connected to cloudflare. I didn't buy my domain name there I bought it ay name cheap and connected name cheap to cloudflare. My site is hosted on Digital Ocean, which i hate. So in regard's to what you have shown what would I do differently in my siltation?

Hey Ferdy.. I just migrated my sites from HostGator to NameHero. At first NameHero seemed OK.. but now I have been trying to reach support for TWO DAYS with NO response. I am reconsidering my decision. 🤔 Are you familiar with WPX hosting? Any other suggestions? I am open to anything.. prefer cPanel since that is what I have been using and I am comfortable with that. Thanks Ferdy, very helpful video. You didn't go for the Malware $5 add on option. So it's not really worth it in your opinion? Are there alternatives? Their selling point is if your site gets infected you'll have to make all these time consuming re-installs of plugins etc., and maybe hire someone to clean your site. Cheers

I understand all the steps and principles will be the same for Hostinger but wondered if you had done a new vid for migrating from SIteground to Hostinger?

Just to confirm I successfully did the transfer and am enjoying a much cheaper hosting at Hostinger (4 years for £250 compared to about £400 for 1 years renewal at Siteground)

@Ferdy - I haven't built my website yet but my domain is held with site ground and it's up for renewal - it's for my non-profit so if name hero is more cost-effective then I want to transfer there. - or do the domains cost the same it's the hosting that differs? Hi Ferdy, thank you for this amazing tutorial. I have an issue with my wordpress installation in name hero, when i want to import my backup (180mb) it throws me an error because the maximum file size is 2MB (and in your case is 256MB). How do i increase the 2MB Limit?

Solved by adding "php_value upload_max_filesize 128M" and "php_value post_max_size 128M" at the end of .htaccess file.

Hi Ferdy, can you do a tutorial to migrate your siteground wordpress website to bluehost? I am paying £40 a month for my siteground hosting OUCH! I have bought hosting with bluehost for 3 years, I bought it last year, but still have not migrated because I am scared as I dont have a clue what I am doing...the hosting for 3 years was £286 or something like that, but it is not a bargain if I dont use it...I hope you can help me as I can find no other tutorials for this other than one that uses WP migrator too...I can't use that as my website is too big...Please can you help a damsel in distress...thanks in advance

What makes the WP admin panel run faster? I had Easy WP best plan and backend was just so slow. Went to linode got the $30 dedicated VPS plan and now its very fast but I may be buying more than I need.

I got a dedicated vps and installed ubuntu and litespeed and it's so much faster. Probably should have done nginx though.

Yeah but another problem with Siteground now is they took Cpanel away so it's hard to control your resources. This is also not good for Ecommerce websites. I run a t shirt design website that needs at least 600 max output in my PHP and Siteground only allows 60 max input. It makes to sense for me to continue to pay $300 yearly. The quality of their customer service has also went down. I am in the process now of transferring my and my customers sites from Siteground which is why I am watching your video.

It would ask that to your webhosting provider. Usually there is a grace period in which all your data is still stored.

I found out that you cannot access the nameserver setting once your siteground hosting plan expires. So if anyone has the same question, do it before your plan expires.

You didn't reply to my email, you're probably busy with your job, you're doing great, congratulations. My Fastcomet hosting expires in 10 days. A couple of months ago, I thought you’d listen and switch my hosting to Siteground, and now I’m a little confused. Is your NameHero really your recommendation because I mean take two years of hosting? Of course, if I choose NameHero, I will choose it via your link because I appreciate your work. When I choose a package, if I am from the EU, do I choose US Datacenter or NL Datacenter. What is better besides the difference between SSD Storage (NL Datacenter) and NVMe Storage (US Datacenter)?

Hey Zoran, yes, NameHero is now my nr1 recommendation. NVME is 3 times faster as SSD. If you are from the EU and you focus on Europe I would go with the Dutch datacenter.

My siteground websites load on 10+ seconds. The same site on Vultr high frequency loads on 1/10 of one second. So yeah... Siteground is terrible in my opinion.

@Dev Saad I did figure out the problem: Siteground sucks. I've also found the solution: use a VPS instead like Vultr for half the cost and 100x the performance. I don't care what the "reason" is for why siteground sucks, just that it does.
