I created DX, FX, MX 5.1 BUS in the E/S, I success to choose the output " headphone 5.1 " for these tracks, but unfortunately there are no choices for input, it's blank. What should I do to select the inputs ?

Thanks a lot for the video! Question, how do you set up your effect aux tracks? When sending a source to for example a reverb, do you have separate sends to separate effects for the 5.1 submasters on the one hand and for the stereo submasters on the other?

Hey David, Great question! In stereo, I have reverb AUX tracks (EXT, Room, Hall, etc...) in each routing folder (Dialogue, SFX, Foley, etc...). For 5.1, I simply create a send for each reverb AUX track to its respective 5.1 sub-mix (DX 5.1, FX 5.1 and MX 5.1) like I would for every other audio track in that routing folder. Does that make sense? I didn't include this in the provided template because I didn't want to make it more complex than it needed to be. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks! - Stefan

@@decibelpeak Yes that makes sense, thanks! Oh one thing, 17:11 you explain that you cannot route outputs to two places. That's not true. With control click you can select multiple output destinations. But I guess you would use sends to have control over how much of a track/source you send to the 5.1 busses.

@@davidcoehorst5555 That's right, thank you for the correction. Also, yes... You'll have much more control/granularity with a send because your levels might need to be different in the 5.1 mix (instead of sharing the same fader and channel strip).

@@decibelpeak Yes apart from the levelling, also the panning is a reason to use sends. Cool, i'm going to try out the plugin, Thanks!

I would like to suggest you an eq for your voice. Somewhere around 3-5khz you could decrease something around 4-6 dBs. It could help people like me to keep focused on what you´re saying. Also I think your advices are good, I'm not throwing hate at you. This a friendly attempt to help to improve something you probably haven't noticed yet.

Hey Ismael, I appreciate the feedback! You're absolutely right, that would most likely because I have a huge 60-inch monitor in front of me that creates some comb filtering. I seem to have corrected it in my more recent videos, but I will keep your suggestion in mind next time I edit. Thanks, all the best! - Stefan

Hey man, I will make a tutorial on exporting 5.1 mixes very soon. It's very simple though... You just need to select your 5.1 output instead of the stereo output in the export window. It'll export a polywav file by default with 6 channels which can be imported into Pro Tools, DaVinci, etc... Hope that helps, thanks! - Stefan

Thanks! I jus tried to mapped but the mapping output only let me add 5.1, I dont have the option of the stereo output.

Hey, you have to make it stereo. It prompts when you create a new output path. Look again and let me know, I'll make another tutorial on creating paths in Pro Tools if that doesn't work. Thanks for your feedback! - Stefan
