Well, I haven't had THAT problem; i only work on sessions, not projects. I'm lucky that way. But, he did a good job of explaining the cuse an the steps.
U just saved me cuz my session just switched to dat shit some how and i was trying hard af to figure what it was doing while having to record and artist lmao
can you please make a video on how to bounce or export in 5.1 using this plugin.Mainly cause there is no proper video on how to use this plugin. Even the plugin developer has missed out on so many important topics, they need to put out proper tutorials along with proper session and workflow on film and tv or music production related.
I created DX, FX, MX 5.1 BUS in the E/S, I success to choose the output " headphone 5.1 " for these tracks, but unfortunately there are no choices for input, it's blank. What should I do to select the inputs ?
Question: I tried this trick. I went to the trim tool, right clicked. Turned on TCE & i stretched out the wave clip just like you said. However, when I play the clip back, it sounds like it has been affected by time shift: as if I turned down the speed or lowered the pitch transpose. Is it supposed to do that? And the longer I stretch the wave out with the TCE method, the worse & worse it sounds. Am I doing something wrong? Or is this to be expected? Forgive my novice approach and lack of correct terminology.
Hey there, it’s normal. There are definitely limitations to the tool and the more times you repeat the procedure, the worse it gets. That’s why I recommend only doing it once (you can simply undo if the manoeuvre wasn’t what you wanted). That’s because it re-renders the clip everytime you stretch. It also has to do with the sample rate (audio files with higher sample rates give better results). So, to conclude… The purpose of this tools is mainly for small tweaks. For something more robust, use audio suite plugins. Hope that helps, thanks! - Stefan
@@decibelpeak Thank u much. So so much. This is gonna be huge for making my beats sound much more perfected & professional. On a side note: Once I tried applying the TCE technique to the sound I needed to tweak (half second sampled piece of a guitar over a baseline) & I took it & put it on a track with elastic audio enabled, it also helped quite a bit. I was just spitting in the wind, thru trial & error kinda thing, cause I'm not too familiar with elastic audio. And in terms of using the different options, like Polyphonic, Rhythmic & so on, I read what each one is for & tried all of them, but the one that really helped the most was X-form. I was able to stretch the sample just a bit more without it sounding like it changed drastically. Bro you have no idea!!!!!!!! THANK GOD!!!!! Sometimes I spend months on 1 beat, (not just the construction, sequencing & arrangement). But even prior, I Dig & dig searching for the perfect sound, that no one has used b4 (which is even harder to find). Finally found an exceptional sample/melody worth working on & this ONE SECOND piece was denying the ENTIRE beat from perfection. And I've learned QUITE a few tricks over the past 30 years making beats (mostly on the mpc2000) to smooth out 1 second problems, more on protools now. Now it sounds fantastic. So again. Thank you. It does however still sound a little stiff. But only when the sample/melody is solo'd. When the drums play over it, it's much more difficult to hear. But I think I can work around that. So again...a thousand thank you's. You really came thru for me. And the fact that you keep it short & simple is tremendously applicable for anyone who is trying to get work done & quickly. So keep doing what you are doing. There are too many videos, where, as they do help, they drag on for entirely way too long, especially for something that can be kept brief. Just a heads up;. It is very difficult to see what you are doing on a cell phone. I went and watch your video on a PC, and had no problem seeing what you are doing. There are some videos of "audio production help" out there, where the video will zoom in a little to help see what the person is talking about & how they are doing it. If you can, I would definitely try to incorporate that. It definitely helps broaden the demographic. Especially in the day & age of cell phones. But even if you don't. What you are doing is still awesome & perfect. Just wanted to throw that out there. Kids today. They don't put their cell phones down for anything, so I know if I was doing what you were doing I would definitely try to reach that audience. Zooming in def accomplishes that. Please don't take it as negative feedback. It's more of me just trying to help a brother back. Keep up the good work regardless. Did I forget to say thank you? 😆 I'll send as many other producers as I can your way that are looking for quick tips. 🫵 R the MAN!!!
Hey, you can easily find out for yourself using the free trial. My guess is that yes, it will. If it’s a subtle bleed that is. If you were playing guitar while recording vocals, it’ll probably struggle. - Stefan
OMFG! I've been searching for 8 non-billable hours trying to figure out how to fix this exact issue. I got a video from an editor using daVinci Resolve yesterday and it was off by exactly 4 frames, but only on 10 of 62 tracks from the AAF. I was going insane trying to figure out what was going on. I looked for a tip button and don't see one. You have my eternal gratitude!
Hey Wesley, I'm glad to hear it helped! Yes, it was very frustrating for me (and my client) as well before finding the culprit. The worst part is that it ends up falling under the responsibility of the sound editor even though it wasn't caught by the video editor. I recommend adding a clause in any future contracts to offer audio sync as an add-on service (so if they don't take it, it's not your responsibility). I appreciate the offer to leave a tip, I will add a link in the descriptions of my videos but it's paypal.me/decibelpeak However, it would mean a lot more to me if you joined our free online community to share your knowledge and experience at decibelpeak.com/the-summit/ It's brand new, so any contributions would be great! Thanks, have a great week! - Stefan
I would like to suggest you an eq for your voice. Somewhere around 3-5khz you could decrease something around 4-6 dBs. It could help people like me to keep focused on what you´re saying. Also I think your advices are good, I'm not throwing hate at you. This a friendly attempt to help to improve something you probably haven't noticed yet.
Hey Ismael, I appreciate the feedback! You're absolutely right, that would most likely because I have a huge 60-inch monitor in front of me that creates some comb filtering. I seem to have corrected it in my more recent videos, but I will keep your suggestion in mind next time I edit. Thanks, all the best! - Stefan
Hey! You’d actually need to cut off the jack and solder on a new one (one without the locking trs). Also, I wouldn’t recommend connecting this mic directly to a camera. But, changing the jack would make it possible. - Stefan
Thank you! You saved me from the spinning rainbow wheel of death. I've lost hours in the past few weeks restarting PT multiple times per work session. I realize now it started after organizing files in my system.

Hey, you mean the audio files? Make sure that's where Pro Tools is pulling them from. If it's the case, then this is most likely not your issue. I'd love to make a video to help you, but I need more info. Thanks! - Stefan
That's the error... Nothing much you can do besides force quitting unfortunately. If it's because of cloud storage though, you shouldn't have gotten too far into your work because it would have frozen the moment you pressed anything upon loading. Your issue must be linked to something else. Sometimes Pro Tools autosaves. Keep us posted, thanks! - Stefan
Hey, the other video I mention is this one… ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SMs53npqS_4.htmlfeature=shared Why did you choose Pro Tools as your DAW though? If you’re doing anything besides audio for tv and film, there are lots of more beginner-friendly DAWs like Logic Pro. Hope that helps! - Stefan
Hey, you have to make it stereo. It prompts when you create a new output path. Look again and let me know, I'll make another tutorial on creating paths in Pro Tools if that doesn't work. Thanks for your feedback! - Stefan
It depends, if we're talking about a Drums and Bass mix, you should most likely leave it out (unless you feel it's 100% essential). If we're talking about a stinger, 15, 30 or 60, you may want to include it. Remember, you want to think of am alt-mix as its own composition. Also, don't worry too much. If your track gets picked up, they'll definitely ask you for what they need and you'll adjust accordingly. Hope that helps! - Stefan
@@decibelpeak ok Thank you so much! 🙏🏽 I've been in sync for a few months now and just started being asked for alt mixes :) Just had a bit of uncertainty about that. Thanks again. I'll sub now
You're right, but I do mention later on in the video that simply applying an EQ to your mix won't conform it to your reference. I also say that referencing a track involves taking into consideration... Key, tempo, instrumentation, timbre, genre, etc... So, the goal is not to have a perfect match. If you notice the bottom-end is heavier on your reference than on your track, for example, you want to add more low-end to your track. Hope that makes sense, thanks! - Stefan
Nice vid...how do bounce out the final 5.1 mix out...so if can be played on a 5.1 system? Can u bounce out one WAV that is 5.1 compatible in pro tools? Thanks
Hey man, I will make a tutorial on exporting 5.1 mixes very soon. It's very simple though... You just need to select your 5.1 output instead of the stereo output in the export window. It'll export a polywav file by default with 6 channels which can be imported into Pro Tools, DaVinci, etc... Hope that helps, thanks! - Stefan
Hey man, I haven't worked in that space in quite some time, but I do remember that there was an industrial vent always running right on top of me. To provide some context! I use Waves Clarity Vx Pro mostly nowadays, but C-Vox can get rid of some things that Vx can't. The "room" mode is surprisingly useful in film mixing. Thanks for your comment, all the best. - Stefan
