in response to a comment posted on one of my tutorials. The principle is the same to mix slow beat songs, it all really falls down to how well you know your music
man, i consider myself a music guy, but im just getting into the dj stuff, still i think i pretty good for just jumping in. your video just showed me something so simple i was doing wrong. It was the kill the bass on the transitions. makes perfect sense.
Thanks for putting this video up even though people criticize! You help more people than you know! Keep up the good work. I need help on the basics, you're most def one of my go to dudes!
Thanks for the vid. Yes. It did help. I especially appreciate the tip about where to get the "transitions"... I've always wanted to know where DJ's got those little parts to transition... Thanks again.
Thank you for the tutorial. I live north Austin and would like to become a mobile DJ. I'm so raw that I don't even know what equipment I should get to get started.... I appreciate tutorials like this for education. Please keep them coming.
Beautiful mate, beautiful!!!. Can you perhaps send me a link to where a mate can find/download or even buy those transitions for hip hop and edm if possible?
Bro I don't know if you pay much attention to your older videos but iv'e been djing for while and am always looking for the lil things to make myself better this was amazing video, will explained, well demonstrated, come the coming youtube is flooded with bad lessons when it comes to djing I also like the way you Vdj is set up The skin i could defo use thanks again
how can I load my song in virtual 8on mac book pro by set a key on a next thing I don't see anyone showing how to use virtual on MacBook Pro y everyone show virtual on windows
Yeah, I agree. The handling of the vocal parts is the main problem I'm currently dealing with. For this reason I would really appreciate it, if you could make another tutorial in a free minute which takes the vocal topic into account. Apart of this, really nice tutorial mate!
I'm trying to figure out how to use the automix function, but so that it will automatically adjust the BPM when it transitions into the next song....can you help?
I'm a professional dj and heres a hint to you don't use such a wide range with your bpm reasons being the mix will sound crazy as hell to the people dancing...as a dj you want everything to sound natural..too many djs today are using to much visual and less Ear! music is something you feel and hear...keep that in mind and you will progress and grow into a better dj
I have a question? With Virtual dj 7 pro can you cut out vocals on a song and can you say run the background beat and add vocals from another song? Thanks.
hey question... i have a virtual dj pro 7, my dj to go can't recognize my software how am i going to solve my problem?? when i bought my dj to go it has a installer which is the virtual dj LE lite edition and at the advance option i clicked the trial version of the virtual dj pro 7. but now the 20 days has been expired and i dont want to use the LE LITE version of my software i want the PRO version.. sorry for the grammar im not really good in english hope you can help me.. thanks
Do you have an external soundcard ? That is necessary, because you need to have 2 jack in-puts for headphones. Then you have to choose you're settings, if you have Vdj Home, it is easier than the pro version. You can get a cheap soundcard for around the $20
i have a question. so say that you're at a song at 80 bpm and want to play a song thats 85 bpm. Is there a way to transition into the song? are there transitions that would raise a bpm to 85? thing is I wouldn't be able to lower 85 to 80 since itll sound wayy to slow for a hip hop song. would i jsut try to subtly increase the tempo of the first song? thanks!
Little question here, how do you call a track that starts with a different bpm than it ends with (a track that levels up the bpm)? I dont know how to look for that type of songs..
you are very welcome! It's not the best out there but I try to explain as best as I can! its all practice we have the basics but you go wherever your imagination takes you!!
Thanks for the feedback sir!! As I say on the video: I am not an expert on this things and feedback like yours is greatly appreciated! on the other hand I am trying to explain and break down a simple principle to blending songs together. and yes I use transition tracks thos help you go from 90 100 bps to the more upbeat tracks 125 130 bpm. I invite you to make a tutorial on this and share it with us. We all have a different perspective and "feel". so please sir make us a tut on this!! thanks
Yes sir thanks for the observation !! As I say on the video I trying to explain the basics only. but you are absolutely right, when they attempt to blend together it sounds like a chorus from hell !! Thank you all for your comments!!!
I think you do it the best way bro... I wanna ask about your skin,, where can we get that's skin virtual dj 7 ?? It's completelly stuff.. I wanna try.. Can share with us your subscriber? I wait for this response too.. n_n
Cool video by the way if you can please can you tell me where to get those transitions I've been looking g something like those lol thanks you can email me if you don't wanna make it public
i have absolutely no idea what you're counting @ 2:23. What are you looking at on the screen when you're counting? I'm extremely new to djing. Would you not be able to be mixing these songs as you're playing at a party without headphones? sorry. im a hardcore noob to this
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS RU-vid!! I really appreciate every single one of them! I have been away for a while but im comming back with a whole new series on this subjects!!
although the bpm's are matched, it would probably be best if you showed how to phrase match because all u did was show how to trainwreck. ie u have grillz cued up 8 bars before chorus starts, so you'd drop that 8 bars before the verse ends on Snap ya fingers...so essentially when the verse ends on tune 1, the chorus starts on tune 2 therefore no vocals are overlapping one another making it more seamless...
