You don't actually need all this stuff. It just takes this fix rd.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59451 No stutter remover, crash guard, unofficial patch or most of the other mods are needed. FNV is only needed for the steam version now, the GoG versions all have the 4gb enabled in the game exe's and the retail version works with the laa patch. Alot of extra stuff here that's not required anymore.
Everyone has their own way of modding fallout, this way works best for me, and the mods you're saying aren't needed anymore are some of the most downloaded on the site???
Carinth, I wish I saw your comment a few days ago, iv been installing and deleating loads of different things and couldnt get any of it to work, My heads fucking spinning after it, its got to the stage I cant even remember what all iv installed, so I probably have a lot of steam shit in my folders that I dont need. I have the GoG version and your link fixed it, thanks for that mate :)
Sorry never saw your reply before AJP, even though some are the most downloaded, some are dated. And because they were made on an unstable game, they are unstable themselves. Not to say they are all bad. Just they are old common fixes and newer ones are available that make the process so much simpler and more efficient.
The patches ended after so long through the games development and all the mods he described are after the patches. These are essential for most people.
HI thought this could help me and others: NMM 1:00 LOOT 2:30 FNVEdit tool 3:47 FNV 4GB Patcher 6:54 NVSE 8:43 Mission Mojave 11:36 Auto Purge Crash Protector 11:49 New Vegas Stutter Remover 11:56 Yukichigai Unofficial Patch 12:03 New Vegas Anti Crash 12:11 JIP LN NVSE Plugin 12:14 ENB Shaders 12:36
*ATTENTION* If you can't add nvse5.1.b archived into nexus then you can download WinZip to convert the data file into a zip file instead of a rah file and add that instead, then it will work
download winzip, open winzip select the nvse rah file in winzip and it will convert it for you, then drag and drop the converted winzip file into nexus and it should work
I’ve been at this for hours getting different error messages. You solved all my problems with the 4gb patched and NVSE. Thank you so much you have no idea how happy I am.
To my TTW bros- It's actually NOT recommended to clean the base ESM's (master files, including FNV/ Fo3/ any DLC) for version 2.9.4b or 3.2+. Doing this through FNVedit, especially before running the TTW installer can allegedly cause some serious problems.
If you need a reference to get started a guy name scribe did a two part toriel on it one on how the install the mod itself in one how to apply all the hotfixes and tweaks. it's a little over a year old and it's lacking some detail I tried messaging the guy but no response so I kept trying to get it to work but it wasn't working out for me. he's used a lot of still shots instead of showing exactly where he moved and clicked and that might have been Messing me up I don't know I'm really dyslexic as fuck though and that's no joke so that's probably the problem lamo.
hey joey, just finished the video, it will but up in a few hours! hopefully it'll help you install Tale of two wastelands. if you have any bugs on it leave a comment. ill send a link to this chat once it is up
This works great man, thank you so much! I'm completely new to modding and this allowed me to get everything running perfectly first try. Saved me hours of going at it alone.
Iam brand new to modding and this is all basically a different world/language to me. Iam so happy you did this video, thank you so much! I will report to you guys how my experience went after installing all of this and see if i dont get any crashes. Ive been getting a crash every 15-20min before all of this...
Awesome! Very helpful, and easy to understand tutorial. I had uninstalled Fallout New Vegas for a bit. But i wanted to redownload it, and mod it some more. Thankfully, this video made the process very easy. Thanks again mate.
If anyone is wondering "why is my main menu not here, i can hear the music wtf?..." that's because of the ENB stuff. Just go to the extraction folders, copy over the stuff, and then delete whats highlighted. If you accidentally delete your data folder just get it out of recycling.
Thank you for a good, informative tutorial. Have mostly been modding skyrim and terraria lately, so I'm a bit rusty when it comes to new vegas. Been a long time since I did any modding on this game for that matter. Have unfortunatly encountered some problems that i've never encountered before when modding this game. The game freezes randomly at times, often when one exits/enters buildings or fast travel to a new location. Sometimes the loading screens last forever, and other times the game does not load properly on startup (no mouse-pointer appears). In rare cases the game loads but textures are incomplete (i.e. the terrain or certain items load, but nothing else). Have tried a lot of solutions, but it's difficult to know what works and what doesn't. Rolled back my drivers, since windows anniversary kinda fucked up fallout new vegas (and fallout 3 + oblivion) for a lot of people. I removed some texture-based mods like EVE, NMC texture-pack, wasteland flora overhaul, electro city and the weapon retexture project. The removal of these improved the performance of my game, but did not solve the crashes. Have used several days on this mess, and I'm frankly losing hope for playing with more mods than I did in the past (Project Nevada, weapon mods expanded, someguy mods with related quests and autumn leaves). The only mods that I'm currently using that were not included in the list above, is EVE, A world of Pain, More perks (With related plugins) and "The better angels" (quest mod for the someguy series) (Was also tempted to use the shaders shown in this video, alongside the aformentioned texturemods). Compared to other playlists i've seen, mine seems kinda meager in comparison, so it does not make a lot of sense why it kills the game. I usually tested the effect of a mod (whether or not it crashed the game), by using a combination of new playthroughs (starting fresh with ol' doc mitchell), LOOT, and troubleshooting on forums. But since I have made my way to Primm in this save, I'm kinda hesitant to do this all over again. Again, I have heard that one should usually make a new save when these kind of issues occur, since the error might be solved on a new save but persist on an old one. If you or anyone else have any advice, it would be greatly appreciated, since these problems are slowy but surely turning me insane, and ruins my christmas mood. As for technical spesifications and whatnot, I'm currently using the Geforce NVidea driver 368.69 (Rolled back from the most recent ones), on a NVIDEA Geforce GTX 950M graphics card. I'm playing on a laptop (so that you are aware), that has an Intel Core i7 - 4720Q GPU, with a memory of 8 GB. And yes, before you ask, I am using the 4GB patch as shown in the video, but since the game more or less runs smoothly otherwise, this makes me believe that the crashes are coming from some of the mods. It shouldn't be caused by the driver, since the version I'm using should be safe.
the Restoration project ENB also for some reason requiring realistic wasteland lighting is done now I think it's good but I haven't really used it yet I broke my game with 250+mods now I'm back to my 30 some odd basic fixes,12weapon packs and 3 animations broke it ,the enb made it look clear but I had anisotropic max it had some small stutter issues, mostly around error marked gun .
At the start of the video you sound like you professional, but then when you hit the half way point you sound like a 2 year old trying to talk for the first time.
I'm very new to modding PC in the current generation. Finally bought a decent rig and would love to mod Vegas. Thanks for the vid, I can follow this well enough but once I have all this and I start downloading off the nexus for other mods are there any I should avoid? Cosmetic, terrain, body weapon and quest mods specifically. Or is everything pretty compatible with this initial setup outside obvious conflicts (2 body mods etc) any input would be appreciated and thanks for your hard work. It feels like you need a PHD to get started. This helps a ton
lol true you do need a PHD, and no just download and install any mods you want and if you notice they do not work or your game crashes on startup, then you can look up videos on how to install them or they just conflict with other mods you have installed already.
The correct way to install NVSE is given here I don't suggest using the method in this link rd.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59451 and further that one did not work in comparison to this video for win 10. So follow this video and not the link suggested.
You helped enourmosly, but I do have one problem. When I try to open the game from the shortcut I get a black screen and it won't go away. When I try to launch the normal version (from steam) it works perfectly well.
One question, according the loot cleaning. I know for skyrim its a big no no to clean official files. It can fuck your game up, download patches for the dlc's instead, so since its running on the same engine, it would not be wise to clean the dlcs?
When your game was flickering I could see that the other screen has a black screen and a white box in the top left corner. That’s what my fallout looks like. Any help?
the ENB web site has iam assuming an updated version .322 is that ok to use? Or does it have to be the version you stated? Iam new to modding guys, sorry
When I got to the Cleaning part at 5:15, I tried to clean the dlcs and this pop up comes up "An error occurred while loading modules. Editing is disabled. Check the message log and correct the error." When I check the message log, this is the last message "[00:01] Background Loader: Fatal: " What I am I doing wrong? In the video you state not to load FalloutNV.esm? Edit: Nevermind. Don't bother with this video if you are also having issues. This dude left youtube and won't answer any questions.
Bethesda didnt make New Vegas...Obsidian Entertainment did, Bethesda just out licenced it to them to make one game after Fallout 3 while BGS worked on Skyrim
i know this is pretty old but i have the steam version of the game, my issue is wondering if my 4gb patch is actually working i love nmc's texture pack ive used it before i noticed that once i created the shortcut and i had the textures installed they would load when i started up the game through the shortcut but when i added the shortcut to mod orgaizer 2 tool bar (just called it 4gbnv) it would load the texture pack but i would crash as soon as i exit docs house or have really bad stutters im using the most up to date patcher not sure if nmc's textures just dosent work with the latest patcher or if the patcher it self isnt loading
I installed the 4gb patch a day or two ago but my game keeps crashing and freezing, are there any incompatibilities with it or is there a way to uninstall it EDIT: I installed an older 4gb patcher I believe but the author responded to me when I commented, I'm confused on what one I need
Hey just got question. Got everything to work but only mod I can't get going is NVAC. I downloaded it from nexus but when I try to install it says error a problem occurred. "The root element of W3C XML Schema should be schema. I looked this up and found nothing or anyone else having this issue. any advice?
Ok so I’m running gog version on win 10 have done all the prerequisite stuff trying to run game with enb an keep getting error 0xc000001d I’ve tried everything from running in compatibility mode for windows 7 to unchecking the boxes to insuring everything is running in admin. I’ve tried swearing at it you name it. I bet I’m missing something so stupid it’s unreal any advice?
crashes on startup. What a waste of time. Everyone goes on about how good modding is but every method is overly complex to try and get something working.
Hi I was wondering if you could help me. I was following step by step and everything worked intil I downloaded the ENB and then I get a black screen and the background noise and thats it. Ive literally have watched 8 other videos on other ways to do it and yours is the most up to date but it still just does not wanna work. Im just really fed up with it. If u can help me out please.
mrjakedasnake813 I guess some enbs won't work with Windows 10, it worked for me on new Vegas but not 3, I recommend uninstalling it, that is the only fix I know
so i tried to use winzip to transfer the nvse data file to nexus and that didnt work either??? any suggestions. yes i already tried archiving it and changing the file to everything imaginable
can someone help me, because for some reason my GunRunners.esm is automatically making itself become inactive on the FNVEdit and everything is not working right because of it.
could anyone help me? I downloaded nvse but I cant download any mods that require it through nmm. it says its there when I check using the console command but when I try to download a mod that requires nvse it just says incomplete on the nmm
Vegasvic hi I did all the steps but for some reason once I played the game I added all my items I started running very slow and I wanted to know how I could fix the frame rate
hmm that odd all you have to do is drag into your New vegas directory and run it. after that it should have installed the patch, so I dont know how to respond to your comment.
Hello, sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you could help me. so I have an issue where when i put the NVSE 5.4.b thing into the NMM it doesn't work (yes I used WinRar) it always says incomplete, I've done everything correct and can't do anything else please help me. and I've checked on multiple different RU-vid videos. Thanks
You forgot a step after first time installation. It asks for a location for the mods to be installed. No time to explain if the default is ok, or do I have to redirect it to my steam folder. Disliked video for laziness.
