Thank man, I went with the Graves repack kit. I think a universal kit would actually work just as well. Actually, two brothers has a kit where the packing rolls around the steel core, that actually might work really well here. Unfortunately the two brothers kit doesn't come with the heat sheild. I was a little nervous when I did the first can, because I took so much packing out of the pillow. I seriously thought I was doing something wrong. But, it turned out awesome, and sounds tons better.
Did you use any special river besides it being stainless? I did a repack and the rivets have now worked themselves loose and leaking around the cap. My caps are loose now. I did short sturdy pumps on the rivets too
Good video bro. Looking at getting an R1 (2013), and doing some research. Question, other than Keelung count on the mileage, is there another way to tell that you need to repackage your exhaust? (Oh, when I get the bike I'm getting your same setup-SOUNDS AMAZING!!!)
Nitto Jamz You want to do this because once you burn out the packing, or the packing inside of the canister loses integrity, you can ruin the canisters. It will also make the exhaust sound like new, and really clean up the tone.
Captain6pack really depends on how hard you ride your bike. Anywhere from every 3 races, for races bikes running race fuel. All the way to 5000 miles, for the spirited street rider.
Noxlmus, what do you use to keep your Graves pipes looking shiny? Most Graves exhaust I see the carbon looks burnt or faded after having them on the bike for a while.
