Works perfectly with the protective case here! I use an Aliexpress cover with a magnet ring integrated and it works without any problem, I tested it with any other case, and also without any problem the phone charge.

So this is just a regular holder with a charge function and all connectivity is through bluetooth and the phone app anyway?
@ebike24
@ebike24 9 месяцев назад
Hi, and thank you for your comment! You could sum it up like this, at the end of the day it is just a mobile phone holder. However, connecting it to the Smart System is very easy and quickly done. Especially for cyclists who use their mobile phone for navigation while riding, it is very helpful. Especially the navigation with the conventional Bosch displays is not really ideal and might be unclear. With the SmartphoneGrip, Bosch cyclists have more possibilities when it comes to choosing a display. In the end, every cyclist has different needs. Cheers - Michael

Any tips on using a phone and not having to remove my protective case everytime I ride? Removing my cover puts the user at risk of dropping their phone and its such a pain to always take the case on and off.

Not easy. May be gluing another protective case to the Grip.

As shown in the video, the reason he's removing the case is to facilitate wireless charging. Sometimes the case is so thick that it prevents charging. My Pixel 6 has a case on it and wireless charging still works. So this depends on your phone and your case. The other factor that concerned me was whether the grip will press the phone's buttons. This of course would not be good. So if you don't have wireless charging and end up using a cable then definitely leaving the case on should not be an issue. Good luck!

It would be nice if the Bosch display itself would show turn by turn directions so we dont have to mount our smartphone...

The Gazelle Avignon has a round connection when I disconnect the included display, is there an adapter or another version of this?
@ebike24
@ebike24 11 месяцев назад
Hi and thank you for your comment! Unfortunately we are not that familiar with Gazelle bikes. Could you tell me the exact model name and model year of your Gazelle Avignon? Do you know by any chance the name of the Bosch display you have currently installed? Cheers - Michael
@MeghanJohnsonRocks
@MeghanJohnsonRocks 11 месяцев назад
@@ebike24 Gazelle Avignon. It has the Intuvia display. It has a round mount on the back, which seems to be the same as the Garmin items, such as the Varia.
@ebike24
@ebike24 11 месяцев назад
@@MeghanJohnsonRocks If you have the new Intuvia 100 installed, you need to remove the entire holder since the SmartphoneGrip comes with its own holder, which is also included in the set. If you're still uncertain, I recommend contacting Gazelle directly: www.gazellebikes.com/en-us/service/contact Cheers - Michael

@@ebike24 Gazelle says to contact Bosch, who hasn't responded. My grip didn't come with the handlebar mount. Maybe it will fit a Garmin one.

Thank you for your reply, and I apologize for not being able to assist you further. However, this is the holder required for the grip: www.ebike24.com/bosch-1-arm-holder-kiox-300-500-display Alternatively, you can consider the complete retrofit set: www.ebike24.com/bosch-smartphonegrip-retrofit-set Cheers - Michael

4:49 you see that you have to remove your smartphone case. That is not very handy or wise in case of a fall. My phone can become very hot in sunshine especially with wireless charging. Is it possible to shut the charging off?
@ebike24
@ebike24 12 дней назад
Hi, thank you for your comment. You do not necessarily have to remove the phone case. Most cases should fit on the SmartphoneGrip if they are not too thick. I would recommend using the SmartphoneGrip only if you are riding on mostly even terrain. It is not made for use on downhill trails, etc. Bosch states that occasional drops of up to 15 cm are permissible. Unfortunately, you cannot turn off the charging function. If you do not need the charging function of the SmartphoneGrip, I recommend getting a normal mobile phone holder (e.g. www.ebike24.com/e-bike-smartphone-mount?p=1&o=2&n=24&f=96). In the end, the SmartphoneGrip is just a convenient solution for holding and charging your mobile phone on the handlebar while riding. The FlowApp works via Bluetooth, so you can also use other holders. Cheers - Michael

Is this mount “down hill” rated!? It doesn’t seem to have a tight grip on the phone, anyone have a phone smash the rocks? 😬 Or I’m I just being paranoid 🤔
@ebike24
@ebike24 7 месяцев назад
Hi, I would not recommend the SmartPhone Grip for down hill use. It holds the mobile phone firmly so that it cannot fall out. However, it is not protected from stone chips, branches and anything else that can get in the way when riding down hill. Especially in the event of a fall, the mobile phone and SmartphoneGrip are not protected at all and may break. For down hill use, I recommend the Purion 200, which at least gives you a small display, or one of the Kiox displays, mounted above the stem. The SmartphoneGrip is more suitable for trekking / city use. Purion 200: www.ebike24.com/bosch-purion-200-control-unit Kiox 300: www.ebike24.com/bosch-kiox-300-e-bike-display-for-smart-system Kiox 500: www.ebike24.com/bosch-kiox-500-display-retrofit-kit Cheers - Michael

@@ebike24 thanks for the info! I personally don’t have an issue with using the phone as long as it doesn’t come loose. But if I fall, for some reasons I never do well that would be on me and could take if it breaks then. Would just hate for my phone to fall off, break as I’m still on the bike flying down hill. But will ck out those links for different possible options 🤙🏽Thanks!

You may have to remove your phone case however. More info here: www.ebike24.com/bosch-smartphonegrip-retrofit-set Cheers - Michael

@ebike24 Год назад
Hi and thank you for your comment. According to the data from Samsung and Bosch the S22 should fit to the SmartphoneGrip. The Samsung S22 has a size of 146 x 70.6 x 7.6 mm and the SmartphoneGrip fits phones up to a size of 175 x 88 x 13 mm. Are you using a phone case that might be too big for the SmartphoneGrip? Cheers - Michael
