Follow-up: Worked beautifully! Easy installation, and I used plastic cable conduit to tidy it up instead of cutting holes in the plasterboard. Thanks again for the great advice.

@@jamesdominguez7685 cheers for commenting, just got the QN930B and I'm gonna go for these wall mounts rather than some cheaper ones which I'm a bit dubious about.

Hi mate, I bought these mounts for the q930b rear speakers but can't find a screw that fits. Can I ask what size screws you used to secure the rear speakers to the mount?

I'm in UK if that makes a difference, any help would be much appreciated 🙏

About to get these for q990d and I was curious how you made out?

I usually like 4-5 feet off the floor depending on if kids are in the area and or seating normal couch and chairs 4-5

You want it around head height. If you have a sofa, get the listeners to sit there and take the average. Obviously, you want to mount to the sides so nobody can knock their head on it, but for best spacial effect, head height. For my setup that is 10-20cm above the top of the sofa. The soundfit will adapt anyway but are designed to be a head height speaker.

No it's not against code because all the high voltage wire in your home is run like that.

Yes technically to code in some countries it is against code due to the fact of somebody pierced the wall and cut into the wire it could work and could potentially cause a fire but the distance you’re going and as long as both ends of the cord or outside the wall the odds of that wire catching fire is basically zero you would have to really really try to catch that wire on fire the speakers don’t pull enough amperage to heat it up so you would literally have to like I said pierce the wire in the wall for to become an issue

It is against code in the US. You need to run Romex in the wall. Power chords can heat up and potentially cause a fire.

I believe Samsung stock with the exact same screw on the back so it should work just fine

@@ghostlyrich Thanks. Yeah, it's the same screw, but the placement of the mounting hole is higher on the new Q990B. Reckon it will still work even though the hole is higher up?

Yes it did , yes it did just set and tighten. Left in right swivel depends on how much you tilt up and down

The common screw for most speakers is 1/4" with 20 threads per inch.

I usually like to mount the rears about 5 feet so they have just enough room to get over the couch if you have children you can put them up higher

I have done it on 990 rears with out issue. The sonos sl are in same weight category.

You don’t if you read the back label it will tell you which one is which you just put the speaker exactly what it says when looking at the TV the left one goes to the left of when you’re looking at the TV screen and the right goes to the right. Sonos you can adjust in the software Samsung’s unfortunately Our pre-determined and you must go off the label on the back of the speaker

When looking at tv right goes to right left goes to left.

@@ghostlyrich so the side of the speaker that has no driver faces you? Why?

​@MitchM240 atmos so they design them to have the driver face forward then, one at the ceiling to bounce off and one at the wall. The goal is to fill the room with sound by using the wall and objects in the room

@@ghostlyrich That works great in theory if you have a wall right next to it to bounce of it. I don’t I have tried mine both ways and it sounds WAY better with the drivers facing me.

I've been eyeing off some Jumbl mounts but they only seem to ship from the US and that'll take weeks. There's some universal mounts from Selby Acoustics but they look a bit too... plastic. Seem to be the same as the Monoprice 111410 which you can find plenty of pictures and reviews of. I think this is the best option.
