While not "innovative" certainly one of the better ways to propagate C. fruticosa. This way you get thick stemmed new plants as the plantlet grows out of the cane directly into the soil. If you just stick a stick of the plant upright in the soil the new shoots come off the cane above-ground and are always thinner than the parent cane as a result. Another way to ensure a good strong top cutting is to marcot (root) the head before you cut it, then plant it. The latter you do show in another video and it is innovative IMO as so few people do that but it does maiantin a nice large head cutting without losing girth of the cane, in fact you gain girth of the cane this way . Love the colour of your shirt with the colour of the cordyline. Gorgeous! These shades of purple and red and many other lovely colour combinations are so sumptuously and richly reminiscent of Indian silk.

Autrefois, lorsque nos aïeux avaient une dentition à faire pâlir d’envie les plus belles stars d’Hollywod, , les tiges de cordyline, coupées en tronçons de 8 à 10 cm de long étaient cuites à à l’étouffée ( four polynésien) pendant plusieurs jours puis le jus, extrait de ces tiges cuites, servait de sucre. Sucré ? Je ne saurais le dire (3 à 4 ans...) Un parfum spécial mais très agréable , en tout cas en ce qui me concerne....
