What kind of nailer are you using. I have a finish nailer, Brad and stapler. I am hoping I can use one of these. I am about to start my flooring projects.
Travis Abel Thats actually a mini stapler. You can get those at hardwood supply stores. I think you can buy those at Lowes and I think you can rent them at Home Depot.
I like all your ideas but to use tar coated paper as a underlayment under natural hardwood that could have VOC’s and the smell of tar after installation no so much. Next time you can try Silicone Vapor Shield by All Globe that meets the NWFA requirements, VOC’s free and smell free. At no extra cost. Made of 100% recycled US paper it’s sold in more than 1000 locations in USA and Canadian. You will be surprised of the quality. Home owners love that underlayment paper. Thanks
We normally use an underlayment product called Aquabar. Its specifically designed for hardwood floors. We just happen to use tar paper sometimes, if we out of material on the weekends.
Adam Luzier I’ve never done that. And I’ve never heard of anyone doing that. You could probably rig something up as long as you weren’t expecting it to be amazing.
Kalogerous magnum - You want to nail hardwoods over existing laminate? Not a good idea. Remove the old laminate first, then nail the hardwoods to the sub flooring.
