"Remember skateboarding skills are the rewards for focused practice, persistence, and commitment." I feel that an entire episode could be made on state of mind. I used to push myself too hard, with less pleasure, more injuries. Mad at myself. Know, I spend 10min warming up, 10 to 20 minutes just enjoying the pleasure of doing lines with simple tricks I master. Then I do hard tricks, or learn new ones. Never skated that much. Never progressed so much. Through practicing ant teaching rock climbing, I learned how to go accept my fear level instead of convincing my self I could go over it.

I skated from my 20 to 26. Back to sk8 at age 39. The videos of JB are perfect for us. I personally take more time warming up, and more baby steps. Focus on pleasure. I progress much much much faster than when younger, when skipping steps.

someone told me to step on my board barefooted, cruise around on a flat area and get my feet comfortable on it. its one of the greatest tips ive been given. when you figure out that foot position, try to ollie with your foot on that same place. i figured that in order to get my knees higher, i would have to keep my board a little bit in front of me, instead of right below. takes a little bit of practice but you'll feel it. Fun fact: your videos help a lot my friend. keep them going.
