Matthew Idowu-Aiye we do booth rent. The owner of the shop I work at charges booth rent. Please do more research if you aren’t a barber yourself. I’ve noticed owners who aren’t barbers don’t do things the right way and also think it’s easy money and try charging a lot for booth rent when they aren’t even established. Some have had to close their businesses. That’s just an extra tip for you. I’m a barber, we are all mostly self employed. I pay $150/week booth rent. But the standard here is at least one month free if they don’t have clientele. Then they start low. $100/week, $125/week, then built to $150.

So im no barber, not yet anyway but i know of at least two ways. 1. The barber will rent a booth at the shop and im not sure how much that is. 2. The owner can ask for a percentage like the barber I go to i asked yesterday and they said he asks for 35 percent and the charge 20 a cut so 7 dollars for just a simple cut goes to the owner but Idk if all owners do this but the owner there also cuts hair so like the 7 dollars a cut could go to keeping the shop running. Sorry this isn't the most professional but yeah.

No we get paid by the cut as barbers and as owners we collect chair rent from the barbers which could range from $125 a week to as high as $300 a week in some areas. Some barbershops go by commission only in which the owner would charge the barbers a percentage per cut as described in the previous comments.

Commision% or Subletting chairs.. Subletting is easier for taxes..

it depends on your shop structure. Some find % works best while others find Rent is best. The % or rent you charge will depend on your shops overhead and how many barbers you intend on having.

Ryze swan barbers get paid per cut/client. If you’re asking if you open a shop and have other barbers, you can charge them booth rent each week or month. Theres another way you can charge them for working at your shop which is commission (percentage of what they make). I’ve only heard about those two options
