The pizza cutter was a great idea. I only had a large rocking motion plastic type but it was just enough to wedge around the upper edge of the window and shift it back to loosen it. Instant fix. I'd already spent 30 minutes on it. Thanks!

Wow!!! All I did was spray the window cleaner into the sides of the window and it FINALLY opened! Its been three months of trying to get this one open, lolol! It was REALLLLY hard to open, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND how simply spraying window cleaner open it in an instant.... I almost was discouraged by the negative comments.

I used the pizza cutter trick with WD 40 and my impossibly stuck 50 year old window, painted shut several times, moved! Okay. I coaxed it with a rubber mallet a bit, but it sure beats trying to take a window apart. Two smart ladies!

Thanks for saving me money I used the pizza cutter and WD40 I used the WD40 a few times around the window channel and the locks and the window opened.

WD40 is not a lubricant. I am a mechanic so I should know. WD40 is a penetrating oil. It is ment to use to loosen metal on metal surfaces that are stuck do to rust or oxidation, the oil penetrates the rust and breaks it down making it easier to lossen stuck hardware, however it evaporates quickly. If you want to use a lubricant that will last use a silicone based spray, white lithium, or dry graphite. these are all actual lubricants that will last for some time and not evaporate quickly.

Try what you have on hand, however one of our commenters said, "WD40 is not a lubricant. I am a mechanic so I should know. WD40 is a penetrating oil. This worked and I did it with oil and a small knife!

I don't know what the hell you want to call or not call WD40- but my window has been stuck for 6 months and I've had every strong man attempt to open it for me. It wasn't until I saw this video that "I" the non-strong girl, could open the thing... .ahhhh fresh air again ~thank you !

I moved into a house in Nov 21 but the kitchen windows didn’t open considering the house only has ac conditioners that have to ran 24 7 I couldn’t get the kitchen windows opened try your trick with the pizza cutter only and boom windows open thanks a lot

The assembly person at Walmart said to try Liquid Wrench Lubricating Oil. Chapstick works better and lasts longer than than WD40.

If you window has been closed for 30 plus years...you will probably need a new window. So far I got one window pain broken. Thinking about just going for it and remove the whole thing.

I have a three-piece picture window,: middle window is STATIONARY, side Right window opens to the Right and the Side Left window opens to the Left....Both Side Windows are Stuck and I can't open them...HELP!!!

That window was clearly not that stuck if even at all....people who search RU-vid for how to unstick a window have really stuck windows.. trust me, everyone has tried WD-40 before turning to RU-vid...

My works too. Used woodprix handbooks and build it with no problems.

My inherited house is 100 years old. The windows haven’t been open in years, probably at least 40. The are shut like cement. I don’t know how to open them your way!

Didn't work at all my probably going to have to replace my windows..

Great to see that woodprix has new instructions to save my money and energy to build it.
