12 minute video taken down to a 1 minute process. I had the issue on a friend's Subaru Crosstrek 2018. I got WD40 (no other tools used}, sprayed in the key hole, inside door opening latch, side metal latch.. A few minutes later, the door opened and closed. - - Thank you for the video and idea!
Thanks so much for your video once I saw it I knew I didn’t have to tear up the inside of my car first I just held the handle up and fist bumped it from the outside at the same time and it popped up lock knob and let go the handle then liftED the handle again and it openED the door then I use the WD-40 thanks for all your hard work I really do mean it savED me tons of trouble. I say All this my friend cause it will happen again and again to us all but maybe you do this first it want be so hard to fix next time Cheers!!!!
you did an awesome job, for me I have to figure out how to resolve similar problem on my 2007 Colorado driver side front door. I have not come across any videos for challenge. Chevy's interior panels overlap each other as it's installed. removing the door panel is the key to access door mechanism. You did an awesome job,
Excellent video, but i took a short cut for great results. Last summer had same problem, used WD40, sprayed on locks, etc, etc, without taking panel off. Jiggled lock mechanism as shown, worked great - for a few months - then stuck and stopped working again.. THIS TIME i used Liquid Wrench instead, and the amount of gummy, black goop that came out of lock mechanism was a sight to behold. I wiped it off several times, spraying Wrench and jiggling mechanism with screw driver till no more black guck came out. Sprayed Liquid Wrench once more for final protection - and door opens like new. Worked like a charm for me. 2011 Ford Focus - perhaps factory grease hardening is the problem.
@@kellyfleagle6046 I did this just now and it worked. i put WD40 right on the locks that go up and down. not even much and i started locking and unlocking several times with key fob. less than 2 minutes and it works no. no tools

Hi Ed.....I reopened door panel. Soaked all connection with WD40. What i observed that iron rod that connected with lock ( Door Handle assembly) is not moving properly . I tried manually to play with rod ( Like you shown on this video at the time of opening locked door) . It does work for one time than again it stay in unlock position. As i can not see how this rod is connected internally with door handle junction but i sprayed WD 40 but not luck. Any idea what i should do know ?? How this iron rod is connected to handle assembly??
My Dude!!!! I know Right!!!!!!!!!!! Really all ya had to hear was TAKE UR DOOR PANEL OFF AND FINEGEL THE LATCH TO OPEN ... !! A lot of jibber jabber for nothing?!?!?
Thank you it really helped. I have a 2013 Honda Accord and this problem has been going on since I bought it but thanks to you it’s solved now. Oh yeah and I didn’t do all that work I just put some W-40 on the side because it does open but I have to lock and unlock really fast so it can open.
Thank you so much. I just installed a door actuator system without clipping the external handle system with a child lock on. Since I have not screwed the cover to the door I will go and wiggle it and see if I can access it
Hi Any video on how to replace rear left door actuator for ford focus 2008 SE 2.0 LT ?? I got parts but did not got any video on it yet...trying but no success
The car is always having this problem. Is it the mechanism that's faulty or the door itself? I was thinking about going out and finding a scrap yard with the same car and ripping off the doors from the scrapped focus and putting them on mine.
same my drives door handle won't open from inside and outside the key works i have a problem with the handle always have to clime over the passenger seat just to get to the drivers seat
All my doors are stuck shut after the alarm went off and i locked and unlocked a few times to stop it but the pins that pop in and out when the doors are unlocked/locked are working any help please?
This must be a common problem on these year Ford Focus's because my 2010 Ford Focus both back doors have this happen every winter! It never does it in the summer, just the winter! and now the one side back door is locked like this guys! so thanks bud for showing me how to fix this! I kinda figured that this was the problem but just lazy lol
@@elijahharris7503 yes I did fix it..you need to take the inside door panel off and spray oil or wd40 on all the lock stuff inside the door..it’s not a hard job..hardest part is taking the door apart..just work the lock back n forth while you got the door apart and just oil it up good! They get ceased up after a while. So you need to go inside the door panel and lube it up and work it a bit to fix it! Both of my rear doors would not open every once and a while and then randomly open up again sometime..
i have the same problem on my Mitsubishi Lancer.. when you unlock the door, it wont open.. maybe its stuck and rusty.. thanks!!! i'll try to apply lubricants or WD40..👍 hope it will work..🙂
I am sure that I didn't missed any connector . What else I should try to fix it ? You mentioned there might be more rust still ?? How to get it fix ? Do you think I need to reopen door again ?
Only one thing I remember is I pull the plastic indicator that show on door ( door lock or unlock black plastic indicator ) not does it happened due to that or not . How should I check that connection
Hi Ed....Still looking forward to help on my door issue. I checked and open door 2/3 times. I do not know why that iron rod covered with cloth does not stay permanently lock / unlock position. Another thing that i observed that auto lock on my car does not work now. In past my car get automatic lock when it comes to speed of 15/km but not anymore. Please help me on it. I showed to one mechanic he told me that actuator need to changed. Do you know how cost of it ? Plz help if you can
Hi Mike, it is very possible that actuator is bad... you can buy one online and replace it and see if it helps... if not then return part back :) The part should be around 80$
Hi Ed....Need help. I was able to resolve locked door issue but not it does not lock via remote lock or manual as well. I mean door does lock but does not lock permanently automatically when you drive or lock via remote to lock all door. When i lock my vehicle except this rear driver side passenger door does not lock permanently . That means anyone can enter in my car with this door. How to resolve this issue ? What i did wrong ...is it WD40 ? Plz help
Good job, have the same issue with a 2007 model. Poor design as I have never experienced this with any other car. I think in my case I will only have to remove the whole rear seat bottom.
Same car and issue as well...I’ll never buy another Nissan. Have your door handles broke off yet? I’ve had three break off in my hand so far P.O.S car.
Okay stop you're making rookie mistakes. Roll down the window and try to pull the weather strip insert a wedge grab a flashlight and look down at the locking mechanism use a large hook tool release the mechanism open the door. Trying to remove a door panel from inside why the door is closed only damages your car
