I am sure sooner or later you will all get at this point where your batteries start to age, swell and can no longer be used in your toy.
In my case I've been using some 3S Turnigy 5800 mAh (25C - 35C) batteries that have gone bad after 50 charging cycles. I need to note the fact that my batteries have always been balanced charged from day 1. I generally not discharge them beyond 11 V and never discharge them under 10.5 V.
In this video I will open up a swollen 3S battery and identify the bad cell.

The "C" rating shown on the pack is a claim by the manufacturer, telling the maximum operating current that can (supposedly) be drawn from this battery. Manufacturers often additionally claim even higher numbers for short periods of time, calling that the "burst" current. The "25 - 35 C" rating stated on this pack allows for up to 145A - 203A to be drawn without damaging the pack (up to 35 times nominal capacity), but no claim for a "burst" current is made.
In reality, many packs do not live up to their specs but the user never notices since only very short peak currents are drawn. When stressed to the limits or beyond, the tabs on these batteries burn off, de-facto acting as a fuse. When burning through tabs, batteries can catch fire. There are many videos on RU-vid showing lipo fires, some of which are very vicious.
For those of you using these batteries for flying, using a battery that does not have the required C rating will cause your flying machine to crash due to lack of adequate power availability.
Use extreme caution when working with lipo batteries. Store them in a place that would allow them to burn without setting your house on fire. Lipo batteries (many different brands) have been known to catch fire a day after having fallen to the ground, not having shown damage.
Never charge without supervision. Use only appropriate chargers. Never over-charge. Never over-discharge. Try to alway balance charge.
