Taking our stand up boom truck out to set some rooftop units. In this video, I show the controls and their functions, as well as show how to shift an 8 speed Fuller transmission. Construction (industry)
So one day I was wondering why there are so many crane accident videos and no crane operation videos. And I kept seeing your comments pop up on multiple channels that I’m subscribed to. So I said he probably operates a little crane or something, so I clicked your channel just to see what it was, then when I heard that 200 tun monster that was all the encouragement that I needed.
thank U for all of the wonderful promotions and shout outs that you have given me for my channel. If it wasn’t for you I probably would’ve never made it to 300. My problem is that are not consistently uploading videos. But the thing that sucks about it is other than the video game ones I can’t really do a lot of shooting on my own.
Or you have no idea just how glad I am that you understand the feedback that I give. There are a lot of channels that altogether ignore it, or theygive rood responses like I’m faking. I guess they just have too hard of a time believing that a blind guy could ever be interested in this kind of stuff.
My girlfriend wanted me to call an ambulance after that horrendous fall. But I couldn't remember the number the number to 911. LOL Another great video my friend...
Having 4 stand ups in the past, and then 2 riders, I'll never go back! Heat, air conditioning, and when I shut the door and sit down, and turn on the Sirius sat radio, I don't have to listen to the job site generator, boom box, and air compressor. Plus your eyeballs are several feet higher, for better view, 360 degree rotation, and with down and out outriggers, you can short jack one side if needed in a tight area. Just throwing that out there for those looking to get into the biz, riders are so much more practical and nicer to operate.
It didn't hurt that bad. I'll be OK lol! Hey thanks for the overview of all that! Always interesting to learn about different equipment. Thanks for the video!
Nice one! Awesome seening your old neighborhood. Bet the memories seem like yesterday. I’m sure operating that crane make the Tadano feel awful sweet. I was wearing my seat belt so no harm done with the camera roll 🙃😀
Well I got whiplash right at the start so you'll being hearing from my attorney. But that was a good video to show the workings of a different style crane. Hope your doing well 8 missed your last one as I'm running a little behind. I got my new puppy and that's taking up a lot of my time‼️‼️ Thanks for the great video.
Hey at least it did not rain on you on that job. When I ran digger derick trucks I always had one hand covering multi handles. Made it smoother and quicker on me, and the people around me.
mike manfred, I'm glad it didn't rain this time. It's snowing right now though. 😞. I'll let you in on a secret that's coming up.....allegedly there is a jib video coming up. 😉. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
Doug Smith, it seems that whenever a crane is set up, looking into the sun will happen at some point. Good sunglasses are a necessity. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
Daniel Eyster, thanks! Sorry I haven't been posting as often. We are still very busy. Posting 3-4 times a week is basically a full time job. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
I watched this one because I was curious how you would "three-control" it. I boom up/cable down with the same hand motions you use, but when I boom down/cable up, I have better control with my right hand (palm up) under the knobs. I push the boom lever down with my thumb, and pull the winch with my ring finger tip. I know you have more experience, but it works really well for me. I turn 58 this month, standing all day has lost it's charm. I'd love to upgrade to a National 14127. Oh! The owl DNA neck injections work great if you take two ibuprofen at the same time.
OUCH ! Bumped my head when I fell, put a knot on my noggin ! That's ok tho, just another battle scar, got plenty of those! 😊 I've run a crane like that some and figured it would be good for someone that played piano............ because of the finger stretching ! 😊 Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍 👍
@@ToTheTopCrane didnt know we needed hard hats to watch youtube. I threw mine away since i dont do precast anymore. Would look funny wearing a hardhat watching youtube. Oh and i used to do tool and die and the safety guy said they just help contain the splatter
They did the same thing with Pizza Hut in our town last summer. Built a new one in parking lot and then tore down the old one. Were only closed to public about 1 week... The high speed button on Crane controls. Does it have to be held down or just tapped between speeds? Thanks
Wayne Tharp, the high speed button has to be held. I think Pizza Hut has that down to a science. This is the second one in our area that was done this way. Build a new one, tear the old one down. Evidently the profit margin in pizza is pretty high. Lol. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
Robert Bradford, it is a good one. I probably only drive that truck 2 or 3 times a year. Hence the knocking the burrs off of a few of the gears. Lol. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
I think were getting a little tea ridiculous with audio speed here. On a boom truck like this one I like to hear the engine unaltered. That helps me put myself at the scene a little better. I don’t mind if you do it every once in a while for like a long drive or something, but when we got a super loud engine like that one I like to absorb as much as I can out of it. I understand your reasoning for doing it because you wanted to make the video a little shorter, but really if it is a slightly longer video I don’t think very many people would mind.
Alex williamson's blind adventures, I hurried through the editing too much. I'm figuring that out now. Definitely not one of my best. I appreciate the feedback. Please always feel free to offer feedback. Ultimately, I put it to use in order to try to make better videos. Thanks for tuning in! The next one will be better! 🙂👍
Most people don't know the feel of a crane, when you are riding in a cab.. but a boom truck is like standing beside it- There's a lot less feedback to the operator on a boom truck...
8:20 at this point, it would be nice to have a 1:2 split screen from the gopro at the top of the cab showing the crane moving in the big window with the hand controls to the side.
c docker, I can't give an honest answer on that. I don't take care if the bill paying part of things. I just operate equipment. I'd guess and say it all depends in usage and if anything breaks. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
hey ...... wheres the other stick? oh sorry I m not watchin you driven a mack does she have a real deep reduction jimmy were you can take it 4th slide button an catch the mid waay of 3rd some can dothat works nice when your loade on a good hill
When you crashed, and we all went flying at 1:40, I think I may have hurt my neck. Can you give me your viewers insurance information so I can go get it checked out? I hope the other driver was ok. 🤕 What is the ‘nose gear’? You mean a front outrigger? What kind of range of motion does the small crane have? I imagine it’s preferable to work off the rear? 👍
psidvicious, sorry about your neck. But, you are probably on your own with that one. Lol. The 'nose gear' is a front outrigger. It will rotate 370 degrees. It is preferable to work over the rear or side. Once it gets towards the front, seeing is very difficult. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
Haha!! You mean I have to pay for my own Dr. bill?? 😦 What is this world coming to? In that case, I think I’m feelin’ a little better. I’m guessin’ you just ‘fat-fingered’ that 370°. 🤜🤛
psidvicious, glad you are feeling better! Lol. Nope. Didn't fat finger the 370°. It will rotate 360°, plus another 10°. It stops at 370° because it doesn't have a swivel in it. But, it will let you go all the way around, then stop you before it wads up the electrical wires and hydraulic hoses.
Ahh, interesting. So I’m betting that, ‘no-go’ rotation zone (+370°) is towards the front of the crane, so you need to put a little extra thought into your set up orientation.
