This video was originally going to be about me replacing the damaged wind deflectors on my VW campervan. I ordered some new deflectors from Amazon, which turned out to be "Not very good" What do you think?

I have fitted the climair, no issues, a 1 mm in the mirror housing is nothing compared to the other holes my van has drilled with during its conversion. I have a 1mm drill if you need one and I am only along the road to you .

Hi, Thanks for the comment and the offer of your Drill Bit, it's very much appreciated. I returned the Climair one and have just received the Heko ones that I will be fitting this week. Good to know there is a fellow Dubber just along the road 👍

HI, Yeh definitely not the best design. Nobody wants to be adding more holes to a camper

That's a shame. It looked a bit of a crappy fixing. It will interesting to see how others are like fixing. Our Bongo has some fitted. May be original and I find them a real pain in the winter when they ice up and too fragile to use I e scraper. They are much bigger than yours and can obstruct vision on traffic lights. On the good side at night we can open windows a bit and it stops rain coming in when sleeping. George

Hi George, you're right definitely a poor design. The ones I'm replacing are of the usual fit, they sit in the glass channel and are secured by the small metal spring clips. The design of the new ones was to drill a hole and use the tiny screw, it was like something you would use on a circuit board and definitely shouldn't be used to secure something that could come loose on a motorway when the window is down. Anyway they have been sent back for a refund

HI, I had a look at the Heko ones. Do they also have the little clips that you push up into the glass channel? It is between the Heko and the Auto Clover ones. These have really good reviews, I asked the question on Durham Dubs and a couple came back and confirmed how good they are. I will sort something out by the end of the week and do an updated video

@@HimHerandtheDogsI’m going to fit the Climair wind deflectors. No fixings are used. A German RU-vid channel tested 3 and Climair were the only ones to pass all their tests.

@@jabberwokky8 Hi, the ones featured in this video are Climair and they require drilling and screwing. The advert on amazon also has a pdf fitting guide that does not show any drilling or screwing, but as you will see in the video and the included instructions this is the case. I have now ordered the Heko deflectors as recommended by @jacobriley5407 video to follow later this week

@@HimHerandtheDogs Sorry, I really should pay attention. 🙄 I watched a few vids featuring the Climair deflectors and they all just involved flexing into place. In my defence, I wasn’t wearing my reading glasses and had the volume off whilst I was watching. 😂
