This week I organized a kitchen fast and using only dollar store baskets, labels and jars. You can organize a kitchen in just a few hours and on a small budget with the help of the Dollar Tree or Dollarama.
This kitchen was completely cleaned and organized in just 4.5 hours.
Here is a breakdown of my budget:
Dollarama Baskets: $28
Dollar Tree Jars: $12
Dollar Tree Labels :$4
White Curtain and Rod: $7
New Curtains for Dining Area from JYSK: $32
Table Runner: $8
Reserved for Cat Pillow from JYSK: $6
Total Budget: $97

Canada dollar stores must carry a better selection than in the US. I can never find cute stuff like you do.

Dollar Tree has good stuff, but that heavily depends on location. If you are lucky enough to have more than 1 in your area, check them all out. Hopefully you find a "good" one. The largest Dollar Store in my area is unsurprisingly the one with the best stuff.

Try a Dollar Store in your closest « high-end » neighborhood. Recently discovered that not all Dollar Stores stock same stuff. My swanky neighborhood Dollar Store has more of the cute, useful stuff!

It's the only place in some smaller homes where you can make a command center and many people like having pics of family, or shopping lists. Also: you're not living in her house! :)

You literally have been the only one who has given me simple tips to actually maintain a cleaner home! I am still working on it but it has gotten soo much better. I have a quick favor could you do a video on maintaining a homeschool area preferably small because most homeschooling families don't have large homeschool rooms and I am a disaster in that area! The rubber spray next to the stainless steel cleaner... oh, I feel your pain!..... I once grabbed a can of spray varnish instead of a can of hairspray.... used it .... my hair survived. (This wasn't at my own house) I'm from Texas so big hair is always in fashion. LOL

I am currently in the deep clean, deep decluttering of my kitchen and it's been great seeing the progress, due to health issues I can only do a cupboard or drawer at a time but I am over half way there and it feels amazing, added bonus is my Son and his fiancee have been the recipients of the extras, they have not long got their own place so it was very welcome in their home.

This couldn't have come at a better time! I'd just taken everything off my fridge to clean it, and was wondering what to put back. The only thing i have on my fridge now is a small sheet of paper with my flylady routines on and a photo of me as a baby with my mum. So much easier to clean!!

I would LOVE to hear the comments you’d make about MY kitchen, because it’s HORRIBLE! Old 1947 kitchen with literally no counters or storage. It would truly be hilarious. I'm a butterfly, my husband and son are also butterflies and my daughter age 12 is a lady bug/ minimalist. Our house is mess al the time. So I'm starting room by room today. Thanks for the quick tips!?! I did notice that you changed your intro I loved that!!!!! I like the little song, lol. I love how you got the end result, I have a thing for throwing away like empty boxes and most of all envelopes... I wish you could call me and get me organized. I disabled and can only so much, I live with chronic pain so it really limits what I can do. My house is usually a disaster although I try hard to not mess it up too much. My husband is a great help when it comes to that but then there's those days he is down for the count. We are both disabled....☹️ So when he and I are both out the house escapes us .... But I enjoy you tips because I find one that can help me even though I'm not feeling good... Thank you Cass

Could be a rental. Houses in some places like Windsor and Thunder Bay have cheaper homes. Could be from a family running a lucrative business where she also works.

Thanks,Cass. The motivation shot that I needed. Just spent the last week gutting and retiling my master bath. I was staring at thinset,grout and texture dust EVERYWHERE! Thanks for this video! We're currently doing a purge/cleanse of our kitchen. Very nice feeling to see cleaned out cabinets. Right now target also has some $2/3/4 dollar bins with lids that come in three sizes, three colors (color coding yay!) and are stackable. And more importantly… they're CLEAR! Perfect for those clutter bugs (like me) that have to SEE their stuff. Brown bananas! Not rotting! I mean those are a little brown for me, but I can't eat bananas with no spots. Omg so nasty and green tasting and bleh. Thanks for posting! You're such a beacon of light in a cluttered up world! 😊❤️

My name is Michelle and I am also a butterfly. It caught me off guard there for a second when you mentioned the homeowner's name. I also need a basket for my shit, so I will use that idea! (Dollar Tree is across the street from my work too! ;) ) And the "reserved for cat" pillows! I kept loling through the video and stopping it to show my hubby all of the good ideas!

You make me laugh Girl. When my sister and I get together we lose our mind. One time she bought a weeks worth of groceries and then we went to the mall. After we left the mall we relised we had left the grocies at the store. This was back when they had bag boys stand outside with your grocies while you drive up to the store to get them. We are always doing dumb things! LOL

Amazing transformation! MORE please and you're welcome in our home ANY DAY. Wish I could send you photos. AND can I say how jelous I am of your friend's storage. We have to use a coat closet for a pantry!!! HInt: Gummy sticker residue crap comes off w regular ole pencil erasers! Just "erase" the gunk away. It works so well, I have even used this technique on our stainless fridge (we keep a family schedule and house rules on our fridge but I am sure it looks tacky-will try to re house them-thanks for the tip)

I can definitely relate to keeping boxes, especially when I was in college and having to move dorms/apartments every year. Maybe the home owners have held onto that habit if they are only 23.
