bro you need to be a 🎥 producer bump the detailing. #1 your confidence and way of articulating the business is excellent. 2# your production skills exceed your true love of detailing which can be a pain in the rear at times. 3# realizing that 💰 isn't everything is a sign of a wise man. Great job bro ❤
Thanks to Oscar and this video I up and quit my BS tire job where I was slaving away for 5 days and 40 hr work weeks for 480$ a week I now have made that for myself 500$ in one day Mutiple times. This week I made 1250$ in one week. That was over 2 weeks pay at my other job. Thanking you Oscar even tho I know you won’t reply!
My advice is to start easy. Just do an interior. Or just do an exterior. Bring a friend! Keeps you relaxed and they can double check your work. After a few times you feel better when you’re on your own. Make it easy on yourself. Don’t start your first job with an entire interior and exterior. Before you know it you’ll be turning away customers and not regretting it, because you’ll know your worth
So true ... just had my first client yesterday took my six hours to clean 😑 but now I know what products to buy to speed up the process ... the car was horrible. She only cleans it twice a year
One thing I learned is to never be afraid to charge and to throw a price for a service up in the air because they either gona lime it or not. Also is that your new van setup
There's a fantastic tedtalk from like 7 or 8 years ago that was about fear and what you could accomplish if fear didn't hold you back. Its worth a watch. Thanks for your content, my man.
I wish I started 8 years ago when I first had the idea of owning my own mobile detailing business. I started it this year. January 2020 (what a time to start eh? haha) but it worked out. I've been detailing for over 10 years. I had people waiting for me to quit my full time job to detail their vehicles. And with this whole Covid-19 thing happening I barely even met my first real customers. I showed up, detailed their cars, and send them an emailed invoice to pay with their card. Made it so simple and easy for me. I started technically in early March (Its still cold out where I am lol) and I've made a decent amount and gaining a good customer/clientele. Still not 100% sure what I'm going to do for the winter months (in the Northeast USA). Thank you for all you do. You've helped me a lot with starting my business and I just wanted to thank for that.
had a question man? I just started in the detailing my own car and I come to find it relaxing. I did it for a friend an now I got someone else that wants it washed. problem is my pricing. how do you determine a good price for talent?
@@thechroniclesofkalinova2446 If your doing a basic hand wash, and vacuum you probably won't be able to charge over $50. With that type of service you would be competitive with local car washes. To increase your value you must increase your services. Example: hand wash, clay, spray sealant, vacuum interior, wipe down dashboard, vents, and center console, windows, and tire shine. That type of service people love and will pay $120+ for cars up to $200 for trucks. And the best part is you can do it in about an hour or less. Instead of making $10/hr you're making $100+/hr.
@@nextlevelmobiledetailingllc you can do all that in a hour ? Wash ,clay, spray sealant, vaccum and clean the vents and dashboard thoroughly? I guess you are next level
@@nextlevelmobiledetailingllc wow that's crazy good timing 💯 .... i think I need to invest in miguries wheel brightener and a carpet extractor. Thats what slowing me down the most, I spent an hour and half yesterday just on wheels alone..... then spent another 2 hours hand cleaning the seat stains.....
I needed this video Oscar! My own fear is what's stopping me. I've only detailed a few family members cars as well as my own and my wife's. I need to get out of my comfort zone and just go for it! Thanks again for this mang! I really needed to hear this!
Very inspiring and motivating👍🏽 I’ve started my detailing busy late last month but has already slowed down due to fear and doubt. Slowly but surely I’m working my drive back up and this helped me so thank you lots!
I’m 22 and wanting to start this business, I’m currently waiting on some equipment to come in. This video helped a lot. Gonna start small doing vehicles in my neighborhood and see where it takes me
@@LilRick96 Hey, so at first I got the equipment and I washed my vehicle so I could make a good first impression. I drove around and saw who was outside and just shouted out the window “want a car wash?” lol. I washed 2 small cars for $25 that just needed a wipe down pretty much. The next day I saw 2 other people doing the same thing but they looked more professional.. I then found out where I live I need a permit to wash peoples vehicles in the city limits. So... then I drove out to the west side of town outside city limits and posted up on an abandoned car wash and just set everything up and waited for someone to pull up. Got a few big dually trucks washed them for $50 a pop but that was it. It was harder to get customers because so many other people were washing vehicles on the west side.. you could literally drive 5 miles and see maybe 15 people posted up.. it was ghetto lol. I never went to get the permit to wash in city limits but I’m sure if I did and hit up my neighborhood and some of the other nice neighborhoods I could make some money. I then went out of town for like 2 weeks and when I got back I forgot about it and just got busy with other stuff. But u could easily make a lot of money with this side hustle if ur in the right spot or in a big city. (I live in west Texas so there’s not much action)
Have watched a lot of your videos, this video made me subscribe. I have everything I need apart from a generator and solid extractor. I am nervous as I have a job on the table for the Post Office but I just don't want to work for the man anymore. I just have to learn packages and get out there.
Sorry. Another tip is I ask customer era to review their vehicle. I say I may have missed something - please check it over so I can make sure you’re happy. This way, you already admitted you may have missed something. If they find something say thank you, fix it, and the customer doesn’t think you’re an idiot, they think you care. Cause you do! You can say ohhh this heat is killer today, or my back is acting up again. Please double check make sure I didn’t miss anything. The customer will agree with you about the way their back hurts, and look it over and you’re all set.
Bro!! I absolutely recommend getting an ND filter for your camera! You’ll get MUCH better detail with those blown out highlights. You’ll get much better detail in direct sunlight. It will cost you about 50-200 dollars, but it will greatly enhance your video quality! Thus enhancing the viewership. I’ve learned a lot from your channel. I started my business this month and so far have gotten two clients. Thank you!
I charge $100.00 for interior detailing and washing and waxing. It takes a good 3.5 hrs. On a good day. I know that's not enough. But people wont pay anymore than that. The towel's and products cost almost $ 10.00 a cleaning product. Interior cleaner and conditioner. Leather cleaner and conditioner. Vacuum. Door jams. Window's cleaned with window cleaner. Rims and tires cleaned and conditioned. Car soap mitt and bucket. Car soap. Hybird wax and drying towel. There's alot of money and elbow grease involved in detailing. I didn't get into claying bars and the liquids you use to clay bar. Or special products that the customer wants you to use. Can't charge what I need to really make a profit. I love to detail! But if I even thought about what I need to charge. There's no way people where I live will pay $230.00 for a wash and clay and wax. Your out of your mind. By the time I pay for products and towels. Then $25.00 a hr for my work. I end up in the hole. Yes, Some item's I can use a few times before buying new products. It's great to hear your making it. Me, Maybe it's just a hobby. I will keep trying. Shawn.
Good video. I like your approach to improving your operation. I appreciate you sharing pricing information in comparison with the work and vehicle the work is being performed. All the information is helpful. Thanks
wow $240 for a wash and wax! How on earth do you get people to pay that? In my area there is a detail shop that charges CAD$75 - $100 for a 'Mini Detail' which includes hand washing the exterior and cleaning interior plastics, mats and vacuum, plus windows inside and out
I love in Minnesota but I still see the opportunity to make great money in the summertime by starting a detailing business my fear comes from when the winter hits. Any ideas for being sustainable through the winter?
Saul EmL What would charge? I’ve seen online that people charge per square foot. And that also gets me thinking of other ideas like home organizing and cleaning because I just want to get ahead in life but I also want to really change lives and give people that peace of mind that you get from auto detailing but it can transcend to other places like in the home.
You can do a "northwest" type of package. Exterior cleaning with road salt and debris in mind. Get an undercarriage sprayer (much, much more affordable than it sounds) and a solid handheld foam sprayer with adequate wheel brushes and get er done. Should be extremely profitable
How long has it been that you obtain a employee? Is that a new thing to get more customers and more jobs completed faster. Before it was just you, can you talk about working alone versus hiring someone?
I just started my own business and have my cousin working with me so far it’s good I don’t pay him much but he understands that this is my business and that it needs to grow because every cent gained isn’t for me. It’s for my business but it sucks because what you pay them is what can be used for you
holy car $230 for a wash and wax... how do you get your prices so high, im charging that price for a full inside and out with polish and everything like...HOW
Detail Groove how do you charge that much and justify charging that? I’m not saying you’re overcharging because I don’t believe you are but how can I charge that? Is it just the fact that you’re so credible that people agree with it?
@@Gmannchoi I think it has a lot to do with his area, and also he's well established. Top shops in my area are around 185 CAD for this service.. almost half of his price with the tip. For the record I think the price is absolutely fair. I'm just astonished people will pay that "all the time" because that's definitely not a reality around here. I'd be the laugh of the town if I charged that.
@@Gmannchoi He knows what his time is worth. The kind of quality other "detailers" will overlook. I'd say get your prices over $100 if you can. I don't know your area or quality of detailing. But $60 for a wash, clay, and hand wax your pretty much competing with automatic car wash's at that price.
Am I correct that you bring your own water to the detail sites? If so, what made to decide to do this? Also was the second detail just a simple wash and wax nothing else, but you charged $240?
@@DetailGroove I been wanting start a mobile detail bussines. Not car wash. Just wanted to know if you carried water with you. Keep posting videos. Helps alot. Thanks 🙏👍
Hi Oscar, I want your advice. I'm starting my auto detailing business on mobile. I have the optimal steamer but it use a lot space on my van You think it’s better for me sell this machine and buy smaller steamer.
E&D Auto Detailing since he didn’t reply I do mobile detailing over a year now I’m not calling myself a professional but for me I have everything I have at my house so whenever a customer ask for a certain service then that’s when I’ll put it in my truck , by that so if you don’t need it don’t carry it unless it’s needed
Sould invested in lawn mowing equipment instead. There no drive thru lawn care. Grass grow. Lawn mowing in a necessity. Your grass gets to high you will get a fine from the city. Its not a necessity to have a clean car its a want. I should have done more research. You make it sound convincing. But its not as easy as you make it. You have been doing this for years.with returning customers. You are established. Finding new customers that return are hard. You will get a lot of random customers that just want a detail once in there life.
Sorry to tell you but all gardeneres I know in my area I see them work from 6 am to 8 pm sun sets at 7:30 here. They got money but a ton of houses to even have that money, utilities maintenance on equipment and the dump fees I’m good lol
@@mauriciorodriguez7154 its called cost of doing business. As chemical gas water for your detailing. You have to spend money. There is a lot more lawn care bussiness that grow quicker than detailing bussiness. There both labor jobs that usually working under the sun. There are cars and house beinn built everyday. Lawns get cut 2 twice a month if your lucky once a week. People go years with ever getting there car detailed. The demand for lawn care is higher than detailing care. Lawn care is not only to make your home look nice its a necessity. Have a clean car is more a want all am saying
Nobody wants to pay so many cheap options out there. I wasted 5000 buying truck and equipment. You got dopefiends with water and a bucket. 1 out of 10 will pay. You have returning customers. How many new clients have you gotten this year.
U have to do what he did start w low prices and over time raise prices. Maybe u jumped into detailing w no customers no reviews charging what pros do as he says in his videos he charged $40 for a exterior wash for atleast first year then raised prices little by little as he gained customer base
