WOW! Joe, you paint the most realistic water and waves of anyone I've seen. I swear, I look at that painting and hear the waves crashing, smell the salt air and feel the water washing around my ankles while my feet sink in the sand. The way you paint the foam, with the shadow on the sand it amazing. You explain it so well and make it look so easy it makes me want to grab a brush. Thanks.
Hi Joe - I love sitting close to the sea watching and listening to the waves rolling - your painting of waves is truly made by a magician painter. You are amazingly good at observing the overall atmosphere and then catching the patterns of rhythms - this hypnotic painting of the waves with the sound of waves is very healing. There ought to be rooms in hospitals with paintings like yours. Thank you for your sharing
Awsome Joe! i love how you can break down a seemingly impossible piece to the amateur. Your simple and common sense approach gives me hope that i can achieve art work such as yours :)
Alright Eric, I'm glad to hear that! Thank you for letting me know. I hope you do achieve work like mine and better. It's like learning to read. You start with letters and work toward recognizing whole sentences quickly. Knowing what your working toward is a big difference maker. Thanks for the nice compliment and for watching my videos.
Hi Joe! Gorgeous, simply gorgeous!! I used to think that I would have to switch to oils to achieve such a beautiful result. I may try oils later, but you inspire me to keep trying with acrylics. Thank you so much, my friend.
Awesome Joe! I am planning to go to the Caribbean islands soon and would love to paint the beautiful scenery of the beach with its palm trees and all. You are a great help in accomplishing this idea of mine. I have not been a painter of much landscapes or beaches but mostly portraits. But I have come to a point in my life that I want to leave my interpretation of nature on my paintings. I am getting older and love God's Creation. Thank you for your sharing of your expertise and kindness.
Mural Joe kills it again! You just amaze me every time. I've been following you for 5-6 years now, and I just noticed you were over 155k Subscribers!! Congratulations, that's huge!
Man o man. Trying to work this as you say had me making so many corrections that my canvas has 10 gallons of paint on my canvas. But I did it!! Thank you.
Well...I try, but between misplacing my brush every time I put it down and accidentally wiping paint on my face constantly, I don't feel very ninja like. Ha ha. Thanks Trish. I'm glad you take the time to watch.
I wish you didn't skip by the crashing wave that was the most important to me . But your right on with what I like a seascape to look like . I appreciate what you do , and the things you do explain to us makes it easier for me to paint , thank you for that . Your an awesome Artist ! ⭐💖
Hello, Joe! I have a casual hobby in art and have been watching your videos for a few years now. A friend has just asked me to paint a whimsical, one-wall mountain scene in her daughter's room. I am excited for such a big challenge, but I am more accustomed drawing and painting very small scenes. I have recently been trying to draw on a larger scale, but how do I prepare to go from filling a whole page to filling a whole wall? Do you have any fundamental tips for first-time mural makers?
Foreground first saves you time on a large scale. Horizons look most natural at eye level. Trees go above the horizon if your at ground level. Those are three things that I constantly reference. I hope it goes well Anna! Thanks for watching my videos.
With the technique at the start, is it wet on wet when you're adding the grey to the blue under colour? I'm guessing that's why you're painting in sections
Great work by you and your brother, again. I think that 'Materials' segment was a great addition, and it may prevent you from answering the same question over and over in the comments and your Q&A(if you do those again.)
I’ve spent so long focusing on painting portraits that I have zero skill in landscapes, and seriously this looks hard! My brain will need time to download these techniques lol
Hello Hello great video - im painting a Big mural, im Used to canvas, but i dont know what to Paint with on the Wall, does wallpaint mix Well? Or should i ude acrylic, or does acrylic dry Way to fast for a mural, what should i use, its a very very Big mural, so i need the right Paint, can u help me mr mural Joe .
Well Taegan. I'm sorry it's been a week but to answer you, I think acrylic is the right choice. Wall paint is not all equal. I like Sherwin Williams for exteriors. I here Nova paints are fantastic as well.
what i like the most, is that you not give such attention to the materials you are using, and correct me if im wrong. i see simple brush and simple acrylic colors.
If you do not show the whole way of painting it is better not to show at all because it is clear that you can not learn from it properly and the painting comes out badly. It's just frustrating.
