We've recently acquired a black 2010 Citroen C3 that had a dented wing. So we bought a 2nd hand wing (in silver) and thought we'd have a go at painting it ourselves - how card could it be....?
So a trip to @Halfords for some primer, Middletons Panels & Paint in Gloucester for the paint, and we already had lacquer from Halfords lying around anyway.
So before I started filming, I sanded down the surface with 600, 1500 and 2000 grit sand paper (using the wet and dry method). The temperature was freezing at the unit so I warmed up the panel using a heat gun before applying the paint (and between coats too).
As you can see, the end product still looks quite dull but a few passes of @Meguiar's UK Compound soon got the shine back to it (ran out of time to complete it as it was getting dark so haven't filmed the end result - sorry...)
