Richeson' s pastels are a great alternative to the Ludwig's ones because they are cheaper but good! : )

I love how the details in the clouds came out! Ok, you convinced me about the Terry Ludwig Eggplant, if it's darker than the black paper 🤣. I notice it's the only one of his pastels with a color name, and a bundle of just one color! I have been using my Paul Reubens 72 set and it has a very dark purple (albeit not this dark), and since you have shown me how to use it my mind was blown. I see now the rest of the set is lacking in real darks, so it's truly a lifesaver. Yeah that set really needs a good burnt umber or a sepia, an indigo, and a perelyne green and maroon. Anyway their purple is dark enough to get the concept of why having the Eggplant would be great.

Darn, all sold out at Amazon for the landscape set…will the set of 120 half sticks be too many?

Yes, I saw that. :(. And no, I don't think the 120 set will be too many if you can afford it. They are wonderful pastels. I'm thinking of getting the 120 set myself. Have Fun!
