IMPORTANT MISTAKE I MADE IN THIS VIDEO: when I was describing the process for filing the jig heads, I made a very unfortunate error and did not capture the lead filings properly as I normally try to do. Lead shavings got on the table and since it’s toxic, they can be a threat to your and everyone else’s health. When you’re filing jig heads (if you even have to), make sure to wear gloves if possible and file onto a paper plate that can be disposed of immediately afterwards. I’ll be making a video talking about this very soon but wanted to address it ASAP in the comments here in this video. Stay safe and have fun making some cool jigs, everyone!

Nice video and channel. I just subscribed. Spring is almost here and I have the fishing bug. Crappie should be biting soon, I'm in Missouri. I'm going to tie some of the jigs in your videos. Thanks, take care!

Shake the jar, with lid on, to fluff the powder. Hold the hook of the jig while heating to help from heating the forceps and getting buildup on the forceps. After heating grab the hook eye with the forceps, to prevent getting paint in the hook eye, and dip. This prevents buildup on your forceps and the strings of paint that occur from the buildup.

That’s a good idea! I’ll have to try those things when I make some more. Thanks for the advice!! 👍🏻

@@Paul-ke5lu barlows tackle has some. I made my own with 3/4 inch aluminum angle and heat resistant silicone mats cut a couple strips wide enough to cove one angle on each side then used 3 1/4 x 1inch bolts with wing nut to hold together
