Great advice around tackling sub-assemblies in the order that allows you to reduce parts as quickly as possible. I'll definitely add that to my workflow.

This is a beautiful paint job! I agree with your assessment of the current Ulthwé scheme being uninteresting. Back when I started painting Ulthwé, GW had their paint scheme as black with yellow and red details, and I continue to paint to that color palette. Notice how GW has paired turquoise with the newer Ulthwé paint jobs; I think they also realize the black and bone was boring.

This looks pretty darn awesome. Unfortunately way too complicated for me as a beginner. It would be awesome to have a beginner tutorial that would achieve a similar look with more beginner friendly techniques :)

Amazing as ever. However it looks more dark blue to me than black. Is that just me? Not a complaint, honestly. Wonder if darker blueblack would help. Not an expert painter so don't want to try suggesting what what would "fix" it😂. Looking forward to the gems video.

I know your not a fan of washes, but if I was going for a easier/faster version of this paint job, instead of manually applying the black in the shadows, could I use nuln oil instead?
