This follow along is so helpful. I am a very “left brained” person and perfectionism with watercolor is hard for me to overcome. Working on finding the impression and not letting myself be tied to the reference will help a lot. I also inherited a collection of what feels like every watercolor paint and brush known to man and it’s overwhelming how many options I have. It is kind of paralyzing! If anyone has other channels or resources for that I would love to hear them! And I absolutely adore this sort of dark whimsy feeling your work gives me. The washes alone are spectacular!

Thank you, very happy it was useful for you. For starts, i recommend picking couple basic colors, like Paynes gray, Ultramarine, Pthalo Blue, Magenta Rose, Vermilion, Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna and Gamboge, set of 3 round brushes and couple flats perhaps, and locking the rest of things somewhere until you learn how to work with those. Having too many tools and colors from the start can be more harmful than not. Happy painting!
