How to Paint over Lacquer And High Gloss Finish

In this video, I am repainting a red desk that has a lacquer finish on it. You can used the same method to repaint any high gloss furniture as well.
Steps-
Sand and wipe it clean with water.
1-2 coats of Bonding Primer
2-3 thin coats of paint
2 coats of Clear Coat.
Transfer is Botanical Print from redesignwithprima

XIM makes good primers for slick surfaces. Clear and also white. The white cleans up with denatured alcohol. One benefit of the white XIM is the layer of primer is thick. It builds up fast and you can then sand it down smooth. It’s best to spray for a smooth coat but rolling or brushing works too.

Great choice with the contrast between the subtle grey and the striking red. I think I'm going to use this combination or maybe swap the red for another vivid colour, thanks.. 👍🏻
