You know these guys could be a substitute for a 40k xenos race if you future up their tech a bit. Have that very British war game look to them

For wood, if you take a small brush (can be an older semi-retired brush) and paint on some light brown or khaki lines, and then hit it all with a brown wash it gives a very easy to do wood grain effect. Doesn't take high skill or time since the lines for the grain don't need to be precise at all.

Spoons ate all the spoons. Carrot is Orange.

I've never actually been interested in miniatures painting or anything like warhammer. I found your Quar video and i got interested by the design. Well, i guess i like this now! THE DUDES

FWIW the sock guards are sometimes called “puttees” or “spats” in WW1

Nice results. I am a fan of Wargames Atlantic. They have a lot of cool kits that are very affordable compared to GW. It is worth mentioning that many of their kits do not include bases. That said, bases are not hard to source.

Idk if anyone else has these at the moment but if you do I could use some clarification on how to build them. Theirs numbers and letters and I’m assuming that it goes 1A,1B,1C etc with the next unit starting with a 2A. If that correct then Im good.
