I have been painting mine with color and it brings them to be stylish not just old. I am doing a design on my dining room ceiling to accent the chandelier.
I haven’t tried color. I have only rolled kilz2 onto it. It’s still bright white. Almost 2 years going now looks great. I can imagine a roller with color paint maybe a tad difficult getting in the cracks without making a run mess. Try spraying it should work great?
I wonder if you’re going to have to paint them every year once you paint them. The only thing I like about having these tiles is that they’re no maintenance and I don’t have to paint them. It’s so easy to paint when you don’t have to do the ceiling
Hi. So far it’s been about 2 years and they still look fantastic. Before i kilz them they has grown yellow and brown over years of not being cared for. 2 coats of kilz has done an amazing trick here for me! I May re-coat them again every 5-6 years if needed.
I don’t know about that. I used some white caulking to repair a small area of damage and it turned out ok. I think drywall mud would not do so well ? Worth a shot though?
That's my question too. People are putting that mud on fake brick paneling, that's a pressed wood/pressed cardboard-type material. I think it might work. I have 3 different ceilings. I don't mind these but same ceiling in same room might look better :)
If you do mud them I’d use a thin layer If me I would do mine with water down to paint consistency for floating. That might actually work out ? Let me know. :)
Did you cut the edges with a brush just carefully not to press too hard? Or did you just roll ther perimeter with a smaller roller? Thanks in advance !
I did no cutting. This is a rent house of mine so i just tried to make it look the best i could with the least amount of effort. I just rolled it with a standard paint roller. I think i used a 3/8 nip but can’t remember. The roller did really well and it still looks great 2 years later.
I just rolled the kilz 2 primer on with a standard roller from the hardware store. It’s been over a year and my ceiling still looks great. Nice and white!
You could cut the old one out and staple/glue the new one. I’m not 100% sure as all mine are in tact and I’ve not had to ever replace them. I apologize
@@CarmenMendoza-gx8xm hi Carmen. So i just went to lowes website and searched for square ceiling tiles and lots of options popped up including the ones i have in the video. They range from about .69 up to around 1.25 per square. Best of luck.
