Glad you enjoy it! That is my plan - the RU-vid channel will be focused on 40K/30K, and maybe some Necromunda. I enjoy building and painting them so much! Thanks for being a subscriber, and for watching and commenting!
Hey, look at that crazy yellow thing. This vehicle always reminds me of the M113 APC used in Vietnam. I wonder GW used that as inspiration for this tank.
Hey, look at that big yellow thing :-) great work as always, your vids made me look into the 40k universe! Might give it a try once some other projects get done! keep em coming!
Hey, that big yellow thing! Seriously, I love watching your videos and techniques even though I’m more of a WWII armor modeler. I thoroughly enjoy your techniques. BTW, the Citadel paint names are the strangest things I’ve ever heard!😉
Thanks so much for your kind words! Even though I am focusing on 40K, I do try to make sure the techniques I show can be applied to any model. So hopefully those spark some ideas! When I first started using Citadel paints, I thought the names were quite odd too! I found out that all of them have some tie-in to the lore related to the Warhammer universe. But some are still quite strange! Thanks so much for subscribing, watching, and commenting!
I really like the way you mix more traditional armor modeling techniques with the 40K styles. I can see the stylized Night Shift style but it still looks 40K. Great job. I’m thinking of doing a Rhino the same way I’d do a late fall early winter KV-1.
Thanks for noting that and for your kind words! I do try to blend the styles so that it has a distinctive 40K look, yet at the same time some interesting (hopefully!) additional effects. I think a Rhino done in that style would be AWESOME! Have fun with that. 😊 Thanks for being a subscriber, and for watching and commenting!
Thanks for making them. Your Ma. K and 40K stuff is right up my alley and I’ve used more that one of your videos to help with my old Nitto Jerry model that I’m putting the final touches on. It has a kinda Battle of Britain Bf. 109 flavor to it.
You can do it that way, and it works well. I approached it a bit differently. I applied the decals, and then once they'd dried, I applied decal solution (Solvaset) to the flats areas only. Once those were solidly in place, then I applied it over the gaps. Once that dried, I sliced through the decals, and applied more Solvaset. This insured that the markings were properly aligned, etc., but still had the appropriate cut-out in the gap. I hope that helps - thanks for watching and commenting!
I think I have my first little bit of constructive criticism: the step feels like it has too much yellow paint. If units in heavy armour with muddy boots walk over that thing... I wish the paint were more worn. There. The rest is your typical great stuff. 😁
I don't disagree with you at all. It was actually a conscious decision though, as I wanted to make it look worn, yet I also wanted it to visually scream "YELLOW". That brief little montage at the beginning really set the tone for me - the ridiculousness of trying not to stand out in battle, yet making the decision to choose yellow as your armor color. So I wanted to keep the colors vibrant, and not too dulled. When I put that initial part together, I actually had a really good laugh, visualizing that almost as a conversation. I mean, picture Sun Tzu or Clausewitz giving a serious lecture on camouflage, and then a gruff Imperial Fist gets up and says "Really? Here... hold my beer." That thought just cracked me up! 🤣 If you look at the Patreon exclusive series of the Space Wolves Rhino, you can see the different approach there. And there was a mercenary aspect too - bright colors sell better. 🤑 But you are correct, it would be chipped, worn, muddy, and definitely not a bright, yellow pop of a target cruising around the battlefield! 😊 Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment friend!
@@JonBius No, I get why the whole tank is yellow. It's just the step that I'd chip more than the rest. But what's one detail against the whole. I do like how you painted it. 🤩
