Never painted my minis, too afraid of them ending up ugly TT. Got all-in in the last ET:O KS campaign and I think I'll finally start with those miniatures (even if they do end up ugly), thank you for making a really detailed tutorial including your thoughts and not too many products so that it fits beginners!
