Changing the colour of siding from white (light colour) to the blue (dark colour) will destroy the siding fast when the vinyl starts to absorb far more heat.
You can paint the vinyl siding with Sherwin Williams paint but make sure it’s for vinyl siding only! If you paint it with no vinyl tint. Vinyl does over heat and if you apply paint with no vinyl safe formula the your are screwed.
That’s EXACTLY what I was like “whoa never mind then” about. My mom’s house is white vinyl and it’s just so outdated but too expensive to replace it with anything else so I thought to paint it instead. lol
If using Sherwin-Williams paint make sure it does not have the organic pigment problem that will not allow you to clean your house. Same hypochlorite is the main chemical used in house cleaning. If you have Sherwin-Williams paint with the organic pigment problem, it will go all disco when you try to clean your home.
Why are you misleading people? You can never successfully apply the paint into the j channels or in the corners … under each snapped course… into all the spaces. The average homeowner and even painter doesn’t know how to select a paint and finish that has the thermal performance that the specific siding has and the expansion and contraction rate - this is a nightmare when panels contract in the winter … you’re going to have the original siding color exposed at every seem and at all the j channels around windows and doors and in the corners. It’s going to be a huge mess and. You’re going to hate yourself. Nobody is going to prep the surface correctly …and hardly anyone will pay for the correct manufacturer paint and materials. There is nobody that will guarantee the paint won’t peel off in areas all over the house in under a few years… or begin to buckle off of the siding panels. Seriously even if you hire one of the best painting contractors, they will want to properly prep everything with the correct materials… this will take a lot of time. And then the painting will be tedious in the areas I said. Even though they may spray. This is very time consuming. And expensive. The best paint contractors doing the correct prep and application and using the best correct paints and primer would have to charge a huge amount for this. And rightly so. But they can never guarantee it…nobody can. And once you paint vinyl… you’re trapped in that world to repaint every few years. And to be honest : 99% of homeowners would NEVER pay this much for a correct and professional paint job. They think they know what they’re doing and hire mid to low cost workers and when the disaster happens they blame blame blame. They get what they deserve. So.. this is only my HO. BUT… drive around your town or city and see if you can even find 1 house that had painted the vinyl. You probably could not find more than 3 houses in 10 towns. And you’ll probably be appalled at how it looks after a few years. Wow what a rant! Sorry BM but you need to stop marketing this as if it’s a fantastic idea and great news. It’s a total nightmare waiting to happen. Friends : just to the right thing and spend the right money and reside your house with new siding and then enjoy it for decades. Forget painting it. I can’t even believe people are advocating for this. Oh and now think - 🤔 who can control the wind? Dust ? Insects ? That are going to be landing and sticking onto the new fresh paint 😂… omg this is hysterical
It’ll last even for 15 years. Emerald is known to overspend other paint products. I’ve used emerald in metal doors, vinyl, concrete siding, and metal roof before so relax. If you never used this product before, then why even bother commenting the video.? It looks like you have never done this before.
