How to pair a Nest Protect with the Nest App including "Connection Problem" solution by Intellibeam

If your Nest Protect fails to connect to your WiFi, this solution may work for you. I personally had the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Below is the error you may receive.
Connection Problem:
There was a problem connecting to your Nest Protect's Wi-Fi network. Make sure that the ring is still glowing blue on your Nest Protect; if it is not, press the button to start it again.
The fix is to go into your phones Wifi settings, then advanced. Auto network switch is most likely checked. Remove the check mark and the setup will no longer fail at that step. When it asks you to scan the QR code or enter the entry key, enter the key instead or it will fail again.
Now you will be able to pair your Nest Protect and the app.

Thank goodness for your video. The part that helped me was the suggestion to enter the Entry Key manually instead of using the QR code. Thanks so much.

Hi, how do you do this on the iPhone? Every time I try connect to the Nest Wi-Fi it switches to 4G.

Thank goodness for your video. Setting up from nest instructions not as straight forward, if you dont know what you need to do in the background on your mobile phone. This video has really helped me out. Thank you

Thank you for the Auto network switch tip. I was having a very tough time getting mine connected. Previously it would switch to 4G and just hang or fail. Removing the auto switch did the trick. My Nest smoke detector is now connected to Wifi thanks to you. Thanks again.
