Consider this solution for the Olivia-Kiara: I looked at it this way: Since olivia walks 3mph faster than kiara, she would need more than an hour to catch up. One hour = 3 miles less. Then 1 mile would be left, and since it took 60 minutes for 3 miles, she would need 60/3 = 20 minutes for the remaining 1 to catch up. So 60 + 20 = 80.

Very efficient. My formula Kiaira 5(time) + 0(starting point) =Olivia 8(time) -4(starting 4 miles behind Time =4/3hr or 80mins. I like your way better.

7:37 Variant 1: (1+8) * 3 = 27, (1+2) * 4 = 12, (2+2) * 8 = 32, and (1+2) * 9 = 27 again. Variant 2 is the one you explained and the correct answer actually.

The olivia and kiara question Their relative velocity, v is 8 - 5 = 3mph since they are moving in the same direction. Therefore the time difference, t = d/v =4/3 hrs 4/3 x 60 mins = 80 mins option D

Chech how much each one travels in 70 minutes and you'll figure out the result is 80. (70 min / 60 min) x 8 mph- 4 miles = 5.33 miles and (70/60) ^ 5 = 5.83. Replace 70 si 80 minutes and you get the result. Or even simpler 5 mph * X hrs = 8 mph * X hrs - 4 miles, where X is the time when Olivia am Kiara reach the same point. X = 4/3 hours or 80 mins

Another way Speed 1 5kmph = 83.33 m/ min Speed 2 8kmph = 133.33m/m Let's say in x min they will merge. 83.33*x + 4000 = 133.33*x X=80

For this one 18*3 = 27 12*4=12 22*8=32 12*9=? Here, in the question it was 12*9, but when the puzzle was solved, it was 13*9, that's why the answer is 36.

I think triangle question answer is 7 because if we consider rest all numbers pairs those are counting to 10 ex:- 8, 2 (8+2= 10) 4,6 (4+6= 10) 3 , missing (3+X=10-->> X=10-3--> 7) Hence 7 would be the right answer.

Volume of cube is side x side x side. So volume for bigger cube is 27 (3x3x3) and smaller cube is 1 (1x1x1). 27 divided by 1 is 27.

12÷2(3-1) I would argue that 2(3-1) is a factored term and you would solve that first then divide. You would redistribute the 2 into the (3-1) to get 12 ÷ (6-2) => 12 ÷ 4 => 3

I agree with this as the 2 is right next to the parenthesis. If there was an operation symbol between the 2 and the parenthesis the approach he used would work.

Rent question would be probably easier to think about without formulas : if everyone is paying $260 extra and there are four of them that means they are paying $1040 extra and since everyone is paying the same amount for 5 rooms, the total is $5200

Electricity and heating _are_ utilities. It's an unnecessarily ambiguously worded question, one of the main problems with these types of tests.

First question alternate answer:: 15% of 40% = 6% (1.5*4) so we have 46%+40%=86%. Remainer is 14% *1500 = 210 (150 + 15*4 ). Notice the reccurance of 15*4. Question at 12:00 it is much easier to multiply the extra 260*4=1040 which we know equals the single studet rent for 5.

For Kiara: T1 = T2 thus x+4/8 = x/5 thus x= 20/3 thus T = d/s thus T = (20/30)/5 = 4/3 hr = 80 min

that one calculating rent... you wont have enough time to break down the entire problem like that. Instead, take the 260 and just make it 200. 200 x 4 = 800. That's each persons contribution. 800 x 5 = 4000 which is higher than any answer BUT A) 5200 so that is the answer. If you wanted to confirm, you can add the 60 back in as (60 x 4) x 5 which is 1200, or 5200 total.

For the rent problem. multiply 260*4, the total amount the reaming for have to pay=1040, which is 1/5 of the original rent. take 1040*5 =5200. That is the total rent. on the series of numbers how can you possible know to mutiply each of the two digit number by the singe digit and add them up. This is pure evil.

Question of guessing the missing number 18*3 = 27 12*4=12 22*8=32 12*9=? has wrong options it should be 27 since as per logic all double digit numbers are added together and then multiplied, 18*3-->(1+8)*3--> 27 if this is the logic then either last option should be 22*9 which would be 36 as suggested in the answer in the video please correct me if I am wrong.

@@chillmishaI didn’t get it like that. I went a harder route and still got 7. I looked at left side since all the numbers are there. I did subtraction on the left and addition on the right side. I found out what numbers you would have to subtract to get the next number. Subtract 4 from 8 to get the middle 4. Subtract 1 from 4 to get 3 at the top. Then I did the opposite on the right. Add 4 to 2 to get 6, then add 1 to 6 to get 7 on the top. Waaay too much work, but it gets 7 still. Lol

For 3:28 With the given data Olivia walks 8mph which is equivalent of 7.5 mins/mile and Kiara walks 12mins/mile. For Olivia 80 mins olivia can reach 10.67 miles (80/7.5) and Kiara can reach 6.67miles (80/12). Since Olivia walks 4 miles behind, so the computation will be 10.67miles minus 4 miles = 6.67 miles which is equivalent to travel distance of Kiara after 80 mins of walking. So the anwer is D. 80 mins

Since all the possible answers are in MINUTES, you need break down the miles per hour for Kiara and Olivia into the common element of MINUTES per hour. For Kiara, divide 5 (mph) by 60 (60 minutes in an hour) which gives you 0.083 miles per minute. For Olivia, 8 (mph) divided by 60 (60 minutes in an hour) which gives you 0.133 miles per minute. Now start multiplying by each possible answer minute amounts to find when they match after subtracting 4 from Olivia's number (she started 4 miles behind). The answer will be "D" as 80x0.083 = 80x0.133-4 (the answer for both is 6.64). I hope this helps.

Olivia-Kiara: Since the relative speed difference of 3mph , that means every 20 minutes Kiara gains 1 mile extra over Olivia so she walks the same as distance plus gains another 1 mile extra and since she is 4mph behind to start off , she will need 80 mins to catch up and overtake Olivia
