Glad the timing worked out for you. These aren't the only solutions, but most counters to the leg lasso involve finding a frame somewhere on your opponent's body and turning it into a lever (just like what Rob does here)
This is probably insane but could you use a leg lasso in MMA to hold someone so you can upkick them? Just a random thought from someone who doesn't do MMA or Jiu Jitsu
