Are you planning to take the California Real Estate License Exam? Don't stress! This video will provide you with essential tips to help you pass the exam on your first attempt. The exam consists of 150 multiple-choice situational questions that you need to complete within 3 hours and 15 minutes. To pass, you need to get at least 70% of the questions correct, which means missing no more than 45 questions. In this video, we suggest a strategy of answering the questions you know first, skipping the difficult ones, and coming back to them later to maximize your chances of passing. Many times people get disappointed if they don’t pass the exam right away. One must study and continue giving the exam until pass. So don’t take extra time in between just keep striking it. And you will succeed.

your advice on taking the exam is exactly how I do all my tests.. It's much easier and quicker this way. So many people taking any kind of test, will just be hung up on 1 question for minutes and not move on to the next question..so everyone, take her advice.. it's good

I passed the exam on Monday July 11th, 2016 and not one math question. I studied my ass off for 5 months. The Califorina state exam is not easy, but I will tell you this. "You will know when you are ready to take it." I passed my first time and arrive early. They check your hands and arms before and after entering the exam room. Questions were challenging, but understanding the material will allow you to choose the best possible answer. Learn how to study and make sure you school has the updated information. I went thorough Allied Real Estate School, and it was basically a cheat sheet. Good luck!

+Samuel Torres Hi Samuel, I went with Allied Real Estate School. They have different packages ranging from $100-$300. I choose the biggest package, because it had the most material. It is all self study at your own pace. It took me 5 months to and passed the state exam on the first try. Plus you have to pay a total of $305 for your license and exam seat. Great insight. I just started a training course (in CA)... but I don't feel like it's preparing me for the actual test content. Alexandra Santana Myself and another member of my team used Computrainer to study in 2015 and we passed first time so you can't say "if you prepare with that in 2016 you will definitely faill" lol. It may be outdated but I got MANY of the SAME EXACT QUESTIONS including wording on the state exam.

+Nathan Pelayo I took those tests dozens of times lol in the beginning I was getting like 40s 50s ..towards the end I was getting 80s 90s and this was over perhaps a month worth of studying prior to my test day which I started as soon as I got the letter to schedule my test date. Before that I WAS studying but not as much. My studying that month was like 2-3hrs a day during the week and all day Saturday and Sunday lol..just to give you an idea.

First you do have to take and pass 3 real estate Salesperson certification courses. A lot of real estate companies like..Keller Williams, Realty One Group..ect, offer these courses..OR you can do it through an online school which is what I did where you study on your own and take the certification course tests once you are ready. This is the link for the company I did mine through. They have some good info you can read. I paid $169 acceleratedrealestateschools171.prohost.mobi/582028?t=31hp9jtm63q796qb10c4fhsuc7 Once you've passed those courses which can be about 3months total, then you send copies of those along with your application to take your state's real estate exam (additional info you have to send in is your proof of citizenship, and finger prints). When they receive all that they will send you a letter for you to schedule the test..after you take it you will know then and there if you passed and assuming you pass it'll probably be another month before you get your license #. (In California the real estate app fee is like $350) My whole process from when I started studying for the certification, to when I got my license was about 7months. Hope that helps and gives you a better idea.

There’s a lot of run around to study with such and such apps or books. My question is in the class your taking they provide you with a real estate test prep for the state board. With that being said will the same questions I get on my test prep from my school be the same questions on the state exams? Because that can be awfully confusing.

Loida, if I have a sales license for RE but want to possibly sit for the state broker exam and to meet the equivalent two years of full time experience , how does the DRE calculate your hours when you don’t clock in and out and therefore don’t necessarily have proof that you’ve worked enough ?

Sometimes they take foreveeeer and they are terrible with the turn around time lol. Hopefully you hear back sooner tho! Once you get that letter you can pick what date you want to take your test.

From the day I sent my certifications and everything else they wanted..it took about 5 weeks. California does take foreverrrrrr though...for one of my friends it took like 7 months and he kept calling and turns out they had "misplaced" one of this documents but it was an error and they had it all along. If you can, call them for an update

Hi I'm preparing to take the exam in New Jersey where I currently live, but I am plan on moving to Los Angeles at the end of summer. Would I have to take classes over again when I get there would I need to take the exam there for California? Also is it good to have a specific degree to back up your real estate license?

+Jasmine E Unfortunately you will have to do everything all over again since it's a different state :( so everything from certification courses to the state exam. And regarding a degree, that's not important and you don't even need one. Once you're an agent, getting real estate training and coaching is what will really catapult you and speed up your success.

I did everything online and it was great. I did everything at my own speed and it cost me $169 for my 3 certification courses (I'm in California). The class setting I know takes much longer because it's like once a week a think (or varies), as opposed to online that you can be done with everything in 3 months. My whole process from when I started studying for the certification, to when I got my license was about 7months. Hope that helps and gives you a better idea :)

I'm more of a classroom setting type of person as well for the same reason you just mentioned but when i was doing my online courses I did find youtube videos of real estate coaches teaching the same exact material AND books I had so I'd just watch those and follow along with my book..so it was almost like a virtual class lol

I get downright teary eyed thinking about it. I know I have the drive, negotiation skills and smarts to be a good agent, but a little part of me dies when I fail this test. Yes Computrainer. There is also PrepAgent you can look into that is good for studying

No, I didnt buy any books to study. I studies my notes and also did the Computrainer program that has practice questions pretty much exactly to the state exam.

Bella Valnoma Computrainer -- it's a program that has simulated state exams and questions on every category that is covered in real estate principles and practice. It's pretty hard to find and mostly only the crash course/training school have it for a fee.

Awesome video! I'm studying now, but the state still hasn't charged my card, so I can schedule my test! I heard the CA test no longer requires math...hope that's true! Lol .

+BAYWEAREA I think it is. I only got like 3 that I guess you can consider "math" but they were obvious answers. It was the same for other people I know that took it and didnt have any math problems lol. Good luck!
