This video is broken down in two parts. The first five secrets are my personal tips that will help you retain the information from the NASM textbook to help pass the test and be the best trainer once you pass. The second five secrets are things you will need to study to give yourself the best chance to pass the exam. I hope this video is helpful for anyone looking to get their NASM CPT, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns I would love to help out. Feel free to drop them in the comments or reach out to me on my other social media platforms.

Chapter 5, and 6 are huge. I focused a lot of time on the practice test and writing down all the questions I got wrong and studies those. It helped a lot

holy shit here I was thinking I was an idiot. Lol, I had to re read chapter five and six literally three times, for I felt like it was so much information just being shubbed down my throat.

I just signed up for NASM CPT! thank you for taking the time to do this. I did choose the Guided Study package so I have the physical textbook and the guides to help not only tell me but also show me the different aspects. Id rather have the extra and not need it than need it and not have it LOL! Anyway, THANK YOU for this video! I am starting my studies tomorrow! I am 46 years old and have been training for about 4 years. better late than never to take charge of my health and now i want to teach and help others to be healthy as well.

@@angelone1839 I passed! I recommend paying very close attention to muscles and anatomy as well as really reading the question. Sometimes it can be misleading. The practice questions NASM puts in the practice exams are extremely helpful. Good luck!

I've been taking the course for about 3 weeks now and am on Chapter 9. I have a lot of distractions with work, 2 kids under 4 and a friend staying with my family temporarily. I went crazy with a couple chapters taking almost 3 days each going over and over them. I wish I saw all of these videos before and went through the text with less anxiety and did a basic overview. Then returned to quizzes and chapter reviews to hammer out what I had trouble with. I'd be a lot further along if I did and know where to better focus my time and energy. At this point I am going to change up my routine and do just that. I am thinking mid January for the test so that I can have time to get repetition and some gym time using this information.

That’s so great to hear!! I was the same exact way when i first started reading the textbook so I’m glad you were able to get something out of the video. Keep hammering on the study guides and practice quizzes, I’m sure you’re going to crush the exam!! Excited to hear that you passed!

I didn't end up going through the testing because I found a good job that I wouldn't need it for. I started studying for personal gain without stressing over a test. I do use the knowledge gained for my personal development and with friends progress. I've dealt with a few injuries (shoulder and hammy) and cut back on the hypertrophy exercises I was doing. A lot more stretching and lower weight in my routines now. I know I'll hit hypertrophy again soon though. I feel as if most of the people I run into at the gym are there for health and happiness and not for competition (self or professional). If I was a trainer I'd focus on the mental and physical health benefits of fitness and put the hypertrophy and power lifting exercises in the back of my playbook. I feel like people get lost and a solid trainer would help them get the basics back before going hard on the free weights and getting injured.

Do you know if NASM's self study has multiple practice exams or just one? The one that mirrors the actual exam not the 10 question ones.

Hi, my dream is to become a personal trainer and create a business and I took the Nasm exam and studied so hard for it and failed. Is there anything you could do to help me because I feel like I’m losing hope.
@MattChoi.
@MattChoi. 3 года назад
Thank you so much for reaching out Kaylee!! That is an amazing dream and I know you can achieve that and so much more! When you fail at something in life, you have 2 options; 1) give up 2) look at that failure as an opportunity to learn and grow from it. I want you to do #2 , pick yourself back up and try it again. Focus on the areas that you are struggling with, continue to reach out to ppl educated in the industry, use what you’re learning in the textbooks and incorporate it in your everyday life. If you have a dream for something you have to be patient for it too. Don’t give up now, you’re so close to the finish line! I believe that you can do it, you just have to believe it yourself!! Good luck! Hope this helps!

@wfhalsey1
@wfhalsey1 3 года назад
There are 120 questions and you need a 70% score to pass out of 100%. So 20 are just throwaways.
