Hi! I passed my test and wanted to say a huge thank you to YOU! I saw your video a week before my exam. I'd been studying the past few months, but there's just so much material, I still felt in the dark. The nemonic devices, downloading that app (and paying the $20), the video on the heart and ideas on what to focus on were so helpful!! I really don't know if I would have passed had it not been for all of that. I PASSED MY EXAM FIRST TRY!!!! Thank you for the guidance, yorr tips helped a bunch. I had only 1 month to study, was being pressured by my fitness director to set the date quick and yeah passed my first try. I was not confident on the second half of my test, was doubting so much. But my test supervisor saw me stressed and was happy to tell me I passed. Thanks again for the info to befo me succeed on my first go around.

I just passed my test. Everything thats on this vid is right on point. Keep in mind, the framing of the questions in the actual exam are posed differently (with a few exceptions) than the prep exam questions. So learn and understand the material at its core and you should be fine.

the self study program is $500 - you have 6 months of reading the content and going through the modules and taking practice exams. you can also schedule to take the test through the program. this is what I did!

I took the ACE exam several years back and now own and operate my own Personal Training suite & 24 hour gym. A friend of mine is wanting to try and do something similar and is taking the NASM exam. I've tried to decide if questions I recognized were from the pocket prep app or the self study practice tools, but to be honest, I am not 100% sure. I definitely can tell you though that I felt a lot better having extra questions to practice, just in case. Helped me feel more confident going into it.

hi!! I appreciate your video, I have always been terrible at taking tests, I freak out and get anxiety I have been studying a lot and have taken all the test and made a 100 on each module test and then the study guide test 100 on each 6 the final I made a 90% how different is the actual test compared to the practice test online? just wondering what else I really grab onto that I don't freak out so much. My test is a week from Wednesday any extra help would be so appreciated.

I passed yesterday. A lot of questions are exact from the practice ones. Others made you think= You MUST know and UNDERSTAND the info; not just skim thru and think....Im gonna get a job as a trainer soon. Thanks Joanna for the info here. It did HELP :)))

I would say that there are a LOT of similarities, which is why more so understanding the material is important and not just trying to memorize

@@cameronjacobson7139 None really came from my Pocket Prep but realize there are multiple versions of the exam pulled at random from a block of questions. As Joanna stated, KNOW/UNDERSTAND the info because the questions are re-worded into making you think. The majority are this way; however some are nearly identical to the practice ones but again this is not a reason to not understand the text. Best of luck.

I purchased the 4th edition back in 2013 but I ended up changing my career path. Now that I'm looking to get back into fitness is the 4th edition antiquated? Or are there just a few things that have changed and overall the key points are the same. I just want to know if it's worth purchasing the newest edition.

they are around the same idea, but it is really important that you understand the material rather than just trying to memorize questions and answers

Are there a lot of questions on the exam on chapter 4? Exercise metabolism and bioenergetics? Seems a little difficult, but I will spend more time on it.

it tells you when you sign up for the self study program. everything is multiple choice and about 75 questions or so

I am getting SOO nervous for my exam! This video was extremely helpful though. I am going to go over the pocket prep questions as you suggested. But also, I was wondering if you found the 120 question practice test on the NASM Self Study website to be a good representation of the actual exam? I am scoring well on those practice tests, but I am worried that the actual exam will be harder or will not cover the same material that was covered on the practice test.

I would say definitely take advantage of ANY resources you can. You never know when questions could be similar or overlap. I utilized literally everything that was available to me.

The only thing that makes me feel insecure is the quiz at the end of the chapters? Only ten questions and its recycled everytime. Im probably going to pay for that app you stated.

THX soooo much darling.But i still have some confusions with the CPR certification.I just learned some couses online and passed the exam from the website.They charged me around 12 💲,and said will send me the certification after a few days.I was wondering whether the certification would be accepted for the NASM exam...

No! This is not the right certification for CPR under NASM. You must go and take the in person CPR certification in order for it to be validated.
