dude ive spent the last almost full month trying to get better at air and car control after coming back to the game after a couple years and no guide I found helped me basically at all but this one was so easy to understand and follow and actually explaining what directional air roll means helped so much, this is fantastic content and I hope you blow up so this can reach many more people
The skill ceiling in rocket league is getting so high that you have to learn this now. Great video, I’m still struggling with motivation when I don’t see progress or just blackout One of the better tutorials out there❤
Every time you black out you subconsciously get a negative feeling, this feeling your brain obv doesn’t want so it will change slowly. If you want to see progress do ring maps and save your time per level, then compare it to you a week later (I usually play 30mins of dribble challenge 1 and ice rings both by lethymr). Good luck brother
If you feel like you're stuck i have a tip for you. Save replays regularly, and after a good period of time, depending how often you play, take a look at your older replays. You are constantly improving little by little, and it can go unnoticed if you're on the grind. But if you look back to where you started you will realize how far you've come until now.
Yah I just started playing rocket league pretty seriously in the last 3 weeks. Plat 1's are doing flip reset air dribbles lol. I'm plat 3 with basic air hits. I want to be better though, not even for ranking but just because it seems so satisfying to be good at rocket league.
I just started this game last week and have been struggling pretty bad. (I’ve only ever played FPS games prior to.) That being said, I’ve watched a few different tutorial videos where air control was explained, but it really helped watching the way you move the left stick while conducting the drill circling the ball. Took only 5 minutes to be able to do it without air rolling. Amazing advice, thank you
By far the best video on this topic. I've got 3300 hrs in Rocket League myself and I am not bad in the air, but have been looking for this kind of tutorial video and I can see improvement right away
this video it’s like a relief, every other video says to do this and that and it takes so much effort, and this is so much simple and I appreciate it for this reason.
EVEN if i NEVER watch another video from this guy. THIS video alone = LIFETIME sub! This video ( even though i've hit GC2 ) has helped me TREMENDOUSLY. I always watch videos like this when they pop up on my feed, I feel like I could always get better. THANK YOU LEAF AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR YT CAREER
Thanks for the road map. I keep watching these peope who are super good, and they make it look so easy, and then it's heartbreaking to struggle with basic aerial practice and training after watching a lot of that. I've been playing over a year with no training or tutorials until last week. Struggling with aerial stuff and recoveries. I'm currently silver 2 on doubles and standard, and triple bronze on 1v1, and I realize I have to get better now or be stuck getting my bottom handed to me over and over again, lol. Thanks for the video, I subscribed.
Man I'ma tell you right now, until youre in upper gold/low plat, aerials ain't all worthwhile. ground aerials start to take more priority at those ranks. into high plat 3 to diamond+ is when wall aerials will start making any sort of a difference. play RLBot's Element. Pretty useful way to learn the game, if, a somewhat high level opponent.
Its nice that you as low elo or beginner want to improve and watch mechanic stuff like air controll how to airdribble etc. Go freeplay everyday and train this for a Hour but dont Spend all time in this I mean play casuals or ranked and get a feeling for your car on the ground learn basics 1st like half flips and boost controll dont chase the ball 5min with permanent boosting, take tempo out of the game by owning the ball / have ball possession ... Aaaaand after you have done all this your already minimum high Gold / Low Platin and rdy for the air stuff in my op.
You can legit get to champ by just hitting hard, accurate shots so I’d make this your primary focus amongst many other little elements you have to learn. Source. A GC3 player.
@@DeimosPlayz yup this is true. im in champ 2 and i haven't learned full aerial car control, as a matter of fact only now am i starting to incorporate it into my practices, because im starting to need this mechanic to get those close wins. i mainly practice defense, power shooting, and dribbling, its not pretty but i win. lower elo players focus on being flashy instead of the basics and its exactly why theyre in the rank they have.
Bro, I loved this. I only played a few times every month and barely got to Plat 1, but this is really helpful and definitely easy to understand, I'll come back in a month and update my progress, hope more people sees this vid fr
Thank you so much for being the first person I've found to explain the easiest way to adjust direction while doing the continuous air roll I use directional air roll instead of normal air roll for my small adjustments and have no issue with it but I've tried and tried and tried to learn continuous air roll and I just can't seem to do it cause I would hit right and depending on at what point of my air roll I'm in it could go right or left or up or down and I continually looked and looked for videos on it and everyone else just says some generic thing like you just keep playing around with it till you get it and youll start to understand how to move the direction you want but I'm hoping this circle technique will finally make it make sense to me
Using the “out of map” pack is great for new players because it gives you more time to recover if you miss up an air roll. At first I didn’t like how small the regular maps are and being able to go out of the stadium on ps4 was so helpful.
I feel like you’re the first person to actually describe what your meant to do with the controller. Like with the joystick… Why is that? Why do people (RL content creators, pros) like keeping inputs a secret? I’m so glad you actually explained it so I know what to try. (I’m diamond)
Join the 1 of daily tournaments when you can and before matches start use that waiting period to practice wave dashes. Its nice because the car is kept stationary. Learn to keep your mindset as moving the field around the car, not the car around the field. It'll open your awareness.
@@OfficialLeaf1good vid bro I was just wondering I know u explained the turning part of being in the air but can u explain it a bit more to me in a comment if that’s ok thanks
exactly what I was looking for, for every move there are hundreds of video, and none of them help at all, they never explain the important thing, that most of the time is pretty easy when explained simply. For instance I never managed to reverse my car to go back to defense or attack, and I watched many video that were making me waster 20 minutes for nothing, until finaly you find a video that explains everything in two sentence, and I could do it right away... It is the case here. The most important info are in the beginning of the video, the rest is to help you through making it quicker to learn. what you think clearly you should be able to explain it clearly. probably people catching mecanichs can't explain how they do it. thx for the video.
Bro that’s pinning trick for the air roll blew my mind dude, before watching this video, I’ve been trying to calculate the direction the car is going to counter it to prevent myself spinning out of control- but that joystick spin trick looks so simple 😭 ty bro
I find Out its me confusing thinks bcuz i wanted IT very badly all Infos Just shortcuts i played snowday Yesterday and learned that even If simple Rules did Not benefit you instantly keep doing them(being far Post) (Cover the net) i think thats a very spookluke advice but guess waht happend i ranked Up bcuz of Not autopiloting all the time also Just 90 min of Play max wihle my mates keep playing those Lobbys Spinning around scrolling tiktok xD also not going for Ball and making IT hard for your teammate helps they have too understand that its Not Just boom balling that waht they do and compleining being Stück or whatever im Not as dumb as the ohters jumping intoo the Ball Guys get good in Controlling get the Ball in the Air and fly IT into net loook squishy He helped me a Lot in waht is being good and pls do Not q when you tilted at ohter human you dont even know 🕺🚬
My pc can’t even run rocket league so I play on my Xbox one lol. I don’t care anyways because I just have fun :) (My rank is gold 3 and I just came back to the game)
I love the Video! I am a fresh Diamond and i want to get better and im always looking on RU-vid for videos like this that help me on my journey and youres is different cause you teach stuff that almost nobody shows. Thank man youre gonna blow up hopefully
This video has got to be my favorite training tips video I’ve seen. I’m D3 C1 and looking forward to implementing these drills and routines as soon as possible. Thank you for the vid man. You’re much appreciated!
@@Fawew awesome!!! i was hard stuck D2 low D3 and now sitting at mid C1 and peaked C2 div 2....all from just getting consistent touches from my aerials and putting the ball where i want it. Thank you so much for asking! Appreciate it. I use this warm up for about 10-15 mins before each session and sometimes just hop on for 30-45 mins and practice all these tips when im not feeling it for ranked.
Also the ranks are for both 3s and 2s it carried over to both, kinda thinking about trying 1s. Never really been confident enough to go into that game mode but I've seen so much improvement that I think I might be ready.
@@koitoygaming1592 okay great, was wondering if the vid was worth my time. Seen many by others like spook Luke that didn’t help much. Hopefully this can help be rank out of platinum quickly (I only have around 90 hours on the game lol)
Actually in platinum, (already been in diamond 1), training almost every day, I’ll definitely have to see and practice all your videos ahah Well explained
Definitely think you should be giving a shoutout to Kevpert. This tutorial is an awesome overview in the modern day, but those drills came from his videos
After mastering air roll left a long time ago, I think it's time for me to master air roll right; I feel it'll be incredibly beneficial for my playstyle and the long run in general. I'm here to look for drills I used to do back then because I completely forgot how to properly train air roll directions by now. 🤣
I like how you showed people that you still don’t hit every shot. Appreciate how real you were bro. I know I’d like to see how to get the training packs in epic. I wan to figure out how to get the rings map soo bad. I have a couple out of map training packs - he’s right- it takes a while to get where you want to go and ifff you screw up you start over on the field For this reason I really like that pillars idea. Can’t believe I never thought of that yet! Thanks for the tips broski! Keep on keeping on!
Dude you got me flabbergasted when you just spin the joystick while holding air roll😂 I don’t really use directional but I hit double taps and air dribbles. But this looks so much better. I always wonder if it’s worth learning air roll right. I mean you have more control with it but yeah
i hope bro doesn't quit making videos just cause the game is dying. i peaked gc1 w no mechanics and i been needing something like this who give it to you straight. thanks bro
thanks for the tips, i've been wanting to improve this aspect of my game i can sometimes get a good air dribble but i dont remember what i did to get it that well.
Unfortunately i don’t think it will be, that’s just something you just have to do in training and in games a lot to naturally feel your car and get used to it, but thanks for the comment 😁
You should make training packs/vids for each rank. This video will be added to the warm up to hopefully get better🤞🤞keep up the good work bro. You gonna blow up
This was the first video of yours I watched. I subbed and you should def do a tutorial on how to do workshop maps on epic also I just joined the discord. Enjoyed the video!
thanks for the content! i would like to see videos on your 1v1 matches with commentary. it would provide valuable/educational content for general playing
Leaf love your content, this video is dope. Can you make a video or just teach how to setup your config on steam? And the steam input does increase delay?
Great Vid and very helpful as always :). Just a quick suggestion, maybe make your videos a little shorter since most people nowadays dont have much time and the attention span is falling drastically. Im not saying ur vids need to be 2 mins long, but maybe around 10 mins would be good ;)
id recommend, editing down the longer videos into shorts for the short content videos. While keeping the long ones I like longer videos for explanations and tutorials.
