Great video But, what kind of product and procedures you have to follow when you don't know what kind of stain is? By experience, the client doesn't know or don't remember the origin of each stain. I bought from you the Prochem kit "with less chemicals that this in the video", I didn't used yet, but my concern is what you have to do in a stained carpet of 2.000sqft if you don't know the origin of each one? Because some stain must to be remove when are dry, I already exclude the option to clean directly with the extractor.. Thank you

Good question. Needless to say it is much easier to remove a spot if you know what it is. First, use your senses to try to identify it as best you can. What does it look like, feel like, and smell like? • If it is crusty, it is probably food or was food. • If it is colorful and hard to the touch, it may be fingernail polish, paint, etc. • If it is waxy, depending on color, it may be lipstick, crayon, or shoe polish. • If it is a liquid dye stain, it can be coffee, wine, or red juice drinks. Next, you need to determine if this spot is solvent-soluble or water-soluble. • If it is solvent-soluble, start with a volatile solvent or POG (paint, oil, grease) remover. • If it is water-soluble, then determine if it is acid-based (ex: most food or drink) or alkaline-based (ex: rust). If it is water-based food or drink, it should come out with a standard pre-spray and hot water extraction or a protein spotter. For organic dyes, such as wine, coffee, etc., use an oxidizer. If it is a synthetic dye, like Kool-Aid or Gatorade, use a reducing agent with a steam iron and wet towel. When in doubt it is always best to start with a solvent and move to other products if that is not successful. Overall, with standard pre-spray and extraction techniques, you should remove 90% of all spots. The remaining spots will require a solvent or reducer/oxidizers. If you need more advice or assistance troubleshooting a spot, call 800-556-6366 to speak with a Jon-Don rep.

@@cabari30 Which machine are you referencing? In the video, Bill has a portable extractor that is not in the frame. We offer a number of portable extractors, which you can view here: www.jondon.com/nsearch/?keywords=pm-&Productcategory=Equipment&search_return=all&Jondoncategory=Portable+Carpet+Extractors Unfortunately, we don't have videos on them. But their manuals are available on the website. You can also call 800-556-6366 to speak with a Jon-Don expert or even live chat through the website too.

He did not deactivate the pog with non volatile solvent . That pog can take color out of the carpet. So deactivate and rinse
@jondoninc
@jondoninc 7 лет назад
Older POG products were typically Non-Volatile Dry Solvents (NVDS) and they needed to be rinsed with Volatile Dry Solvents (VDS). Volatile Dry Solvents (VDS) evaporate and do not need to be rinsed. Non-Volatile (NVDS) must be rinsed as they can leave a residue. Matrix Break Down POG is water rinse-able and does not need to be rinsed with a VDS. It won't leave behind an unsightly oily ring, either. You can read more about Matrix Break Down here: www.jondon.com/matrix-breakdown-pog.html

he somewhat bleached out that spot.

Bill should have been doing a better job of rinsing as gel products, like Orange Power Gel, are harder to rinse out, but normally are not products that bleach. A little more heat during extraction would have taken care of that little bit of residue left behind too.

What a joke! You don't find fresh wet spots when cleaning . They are always dry and been there for a while. So this does nothing for me. I want to see real situations.

Hi, thanks for watching. The same spotting procedures covered in the video work for both old spots and fresh ones, though you may have to repeat the steps for the older ones. This is, of course, assuming there has been no permanent damage or color change from the spot being left untreated for so long.

If you want to make me a believer, let's see it work on an old dry coffee spot. by the way, ninety eight percent of my cleaning products are purchased from Jon Don.. My favorite product is matrix enzyme prespray, second would be fission. You can't find a better carpet cleaning supplier than Jon Don. Thanks for you response.

Also, i have problems getting customers to pay extra to get tough stains out over the quoted price of a thorough steam clean. I don't bother doing this sort of work as often the customers that have carpets this manky are also not good repeat customers.
