@@reallyhimongod You either are trying this on the wrong type of lock, have the wrong tools, or simply haven’t practiced enough on other locks. I’ve been lock picking for years now so it just takes a little bit to get the hang of it.

It has a deadlatch behind it. If the latch is depressed the bolt cannot move unless the handle is turned.

Most doorknob keys will go either way. Only one way unlocks it, but still if the key is able to turn both ways it's helpful because once you pick and turn the cylinder, it doesn't unlock then by process of elimination you know unlock is the other way. If not then the best way is your ear and feel. The lock will rotate a tiny bit each binding click. and also when you turn back the pins will drop. if the cylinder only turns one way then there's a good chance the pins won't set going the other way.

I know the feeling. Some people are more sensitive than others. No one seems to be able to describe how much tension to put on the tension wrench. I've tried different amounts of tension and different techniques and none of them worked on common doorknob locks. I watched my locksmith use a rubber band and a bump key so that must be the easiest way for him to do it. Someone needs to use an inch pound torque wrench to measure what works for picking.

These videos make me have to ask Jesus for forgiveness because I cuss when none of them unlock.

Some locks open in the opposite direction, did you know that? And he is not basically raking. He's just so proficient that he can quickly feel the pins with his tools and under 4:30 minutes he got that lock opened THREE times using three different methods. I'd like to see YOU do that!

Now it’s settling in that I don’t have those tools
